Slytech Back Protectors Worth it?

alot of people will tell you no, but mine does wonders for me. I never notice it either.

So people don't seem to like to?

If I were to actually fall hard on my back, will it help?

a big thing they do besides protect you is give you more confidence.

Extremely true. I feel naked when i ski without my back protector, but I don't even notice it when its on my back and feel way more safe.

thinking about picking one up as well. I was just wondering which one you guys recommend based on comfort. I was wondering if i should get a backpack style one or a vest. Thanks fam

Does he really though? I know he is sponsored by them, but I really do wonder if he has that thing on every time he skis (not that you would be able to tell either way with the 5xl steeze). He certainly doesn't need a confidence boost and he has gotten by hitting 100 foot jumps and gnarly quad kink urban rails without it just fine.

I have a POC back protector. It's lightweight and I don't notice it. I say go for it. I've been in quite a few situations where I've wrapped myself around a tree or lost a ski off a cliff and I would have loved having one just in case.

yes he does. and he has for a long time! even before the new sponsorship. not getting a back injury is fun and so is skiing because of not having one :)

I have the Demon vest and it has been amazing. You get used to wearing it and it also adds some protection at the ribs. It definitely gives me confidence I'll be able to ski longer through the season!

Can someone recommend me some high quality vest-type padding? Seems like if I'm already getting a back protector why not protect the front.

theres a limit to how much protection dude.... by the way you heading you might as well be a knight in armor.. 90 % of the skiers out there arent wearing protector and they are doing fine.. a back protector is a good idea but its not like you also need front knee leg shoulder protector
