Pretty bummed that Birk gave Hugo the ok on that nosebud 6.. insane trick but he landed with one ski completely sideways

He skied out tho. Super janky but he landed and didn’t fall

Taisei just gave me a spook. Had him winning this round, but after watching him throw down fucked pipe/jump as well as rail tricks, I'm not sure he can be stopped by anyone.

Those spins on and off were so frickin clean.

Spaghettli I think

Are there any "dirty" ski tricks that like only one dude. I'm thinking of Mike Mo's late back foot 360 flip in BatB. He's legit the only dude that can do it.

Would be cool if a skier had like a "finishing move" that nobody else can do. For example can/has anyone else done Henriks nosebutter triple?

What do you guys think of Hunters alley oop dub flat 12. Looked kinda like a single to me, just wondering.

Thumbs up = dub

Thumbs down = single

I thought the same about both his “dub” rodeo 9 and 12

]Bracket claim who finna bet:

ROUND 1 (what's left):

Vinnie Vs. Oscar - Oscar

Mark Vs. Colby - Mark

ROUND 2:

Hugo vs Finn - Hugo

Ferdie vs. Johan - Johan

Taisei vs. Mark - Taisei

Emil vs. Oscar - Emil

ROUND 3:

Hugo vs. Johan - Hugo

Taisei vs. Emil - Emil

FINAL WINNER: Emil (in the wildest super nightmare part 4 emil vs. hugo death battle ever)

Part 4 Emil Hugo would be a miracle ending I hope it happens

I’m kinda feeling like the gap to flat down box is just too gnarly and no one really wants to hit it. The gap is fat I don’t blame them

And I thought hunter had no style haha all you new wave haters must love that Japanese kid

dude not every skier has to be a style skier. I've been a fan of the bunch since day 1 but I love watching taisei throw down crazy spins too. Some skiers are fun to watch for style, others for technicality. I'm pretty sick of the whole new wavers vs new wave hater bullshit that goes on these days, sometimes I feel like I'm the only guy on this site who enjoys watching both crazy tech stuff as well as swervy skiing

U can be tech and have style. Just watch Hugo and emil. It’s not how much u spin it’s how u spin

Fuck that was a tough last call but I'm with hunter on that. Also Colby is savage. After mark took that slam on the first trick he came right back to the backslide

for sure. I just think it's equally as wack to hate on skiers for having "no style" (which is totally subjective) as it is to hate on kids for swerving around.

1/4 way through the game i thought it's slvs to slv... how is there still 15 minutes left?

good 15 minutes though. Hunter is a good ref to watch too.

Yeah boi, Hunter had good calls. Wasn't too loose and pretty fair.

Mark took some gnar slams.

I completely agree and feel the same way. In the end it's all park skiing and every aspect of it is hard whether your new wave or creative, a technical comp skier, or got that gangsta steeze it's all enjoyable. That's why I love slvsh so much. You get a bit of all of it out of all 4 years slvsh has been around for.

Mark's blind surface should have counted. By watching his body he obviously doesn't jump during the swap, but rather does it right after he hops on and kind of bounces on the rail. Should have counted imo

It's pretty evident if you watch in slow mo, plus hunter and Charlie said it looked not surfaced in person, hunter was a good ref and both skiers were fucked. Gg 10/10

Still kinda tough to lose the game on a call that could have admittedly gone both ways

Yeah, but so far this has been a game we can kinda agreeably end on compared to others.

Didn't like this game. 3/5 letters vinni had on Oscar were switch 5050s. Vinnie is great on offence but he's a glass cannon of sorts

Yeah this is how some games will be, especially in cup where winning the game is much more significant.

Conspiracy theory: slvsh cup is sponsored by monster so they made sure all of the red bull athletes got eliminated in the first round so red bull would look inferior

I disagree about the glass cannon part. I think he's got a versatile skill set and his niche tricks make him fun to watch. You'd think more people would practice sliding rails with their skis at all different angles anyway. Oh and also he did misty 450 Japan first try ever...landing was iffy for sure but it was valiant defence.

ehh, that argument doesnt really work. Thats like saying you cant do multiple variations of a 270.

Imagine Vinny vs Taisei lmao that match would be bonkers, polar opposites in a lot of ways

As much as I like watching both styles, that game would be won quickly just because Vinny doesn't spin that fast (from what I've seen), and Taisei hasn't shown that creative aspect that Vinny has. It all depends on who gets the set after Trivia Crack rules. The best games are the ones where the skiers have similar styles and tricks.

Nope, I think the best games are the ones where skiers with different styles and tricks are willing to try each others' tricks. For example Magnus v Ethan or Hugo v Emil (dif enough?) off the top of my head. Matchups of similar skiers are often awesome too, but watching guys try (and lace) hits they'd never ordinarily do is awesome. This one of Vinny and Oscar, though, was not one of those games.

Looking back at the Magnus v Ethan matchup, they were doing tricks that they were both capable of doing. They built off of each others tricks to do even crazier tricks. That made that really fun to watch even with their different approaches to skiing. The specific case, Taisei v Vinny, is too drastically different in their styles of skiing where it wouldn't be AS entertaining to watch because I don't think they'd be able to build off of each others tricks to push the envelope similarily to what Magnus and Ethan did. Obviously I'd still love to see that game (and maybe we will). If we do see that game, I hope I'm wrong!

Another game that comes to mind is Quan vs Henrik. 2 similar dudes putting on an absolute show
