SLVSH

That was wilder than a pack of feral cats.

seriously tho, what a great finale. level of riding was insane, the dudes were just so stoked to be going big, woodsy killed the ref game. WHEW!

I'm mad impressed with Quan, I knew he was going to hold his own but goddamn that game could've gone either way. It's for sure a bummer the game ended on that note but both skiers had their faults. B3S was sus but Henriks rodeo 9 at the beginning was not rodeoed...

I'm not bothered by Henriks tranny to sw as much as his 4 on 4 off had a massive hand touch that shouldn't have counted, especially not setting, if that was defensive I could understand that call more. Big ups to Woodsy though, he defo did the best he could and kept the entertainment level high af!

The reffing was tight and loose for sure but so was the game.It was a banger. Both Quinn and Henrik are absolute fucking units.

As of now, the games have racked up 620k views on youtube. Safe to say it can easily hit the 800k in the coming weeks.

i'm curious to see the potential future of the slvsh cups with that much exposure for brands, resorts and athletes. I think, to the big resorts, this could be a really great venture as they already have the insane parks and accomodations in place. + the cost of having your park with that much exposure has to be cheap compared to other advertising platforms. ++ you get to associate your park and resort to the best skiers in the world being stoked on life. slvsh has definitely something going on, keep it up folks.

I'm also curious to see how many cups could be done in a year. I think right now a big aspect of the hype is the rarity. There are note a lot cups so were all hyped to see some games with stakes on the line and where the athletes turn it up a notch. Personnally i think there could easily be 3-4 cups a year with the same hype.

correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they do a fall cup? or did they? not sure why this is popping into my brain

I think it would be hard for them to have multiple cups a year because most of the guys who compete in the cups are doing comps for most of the year. My hope is that we'll see a cup with more skiers in the future, it would be sick if they had a cup start with 32 skiers, it would probably be difficult to organize though.

I think Woodsy called a great game. You could tell he was truly enjoying the skiing and wanted to "let em play" a little. Good stuff as always!! SLVSH is so fucking entertaining fuck.

That was fucking nuts, never wanted that game to end compared to the rest. Didnt want it to end like that but the iffy calls were evened out so whatever I wouldve been stoked on anyone in this roster winning. Pretty identical skiing but damn Quinn is absolutely filthy, Henriks a wizard himself, make Woodsy the designated ref for every game too.

Thank you SLVSH for making my nights so good after work, best cup to date.

Heyoooo, this whole tourney was outrageous and credit to all involved. Been years since I’ve clued into any park skiing but this ooozed everything that makes the sport great.

Had no idea who Quinn was but his level is right there with Harlaut. Both crushed their truck selection in the final, every trick/line was a joy to watch.

when henrik got his 3rd letter and woodsy was like "and just like that quinn has given henrik more letters in this game than henrik has accumulated in this entire tournament"

i felt that

tbh SLVSH is the greatest thing that has happened in the ski industry. XGames copyrights all of their shit so you can't see it all over the internet and cable isn't super accessible. SLVSH makes skiing look fun and approachable and more fun and random. Skiing isn't about having some super organized event it's about skiing and seeing wtf happens. You can see Quan was still stoked even tho he got 2nd and Hunter was still stoked even tho he got 4th. SLVSH is for the people. I hope this brings a lot of people into the ski industry. I feel like money isn't even the problem like people have said over the years. Because looking at scootering shit is just as expensive as skiing (scootering may be easier but still). If SLVSH keeps getting view on youtube that means the more views --> the more views it'll get and since they have their own channel and website. As long as SLVSH doesn't become money hungry and stays OG then GOD BLESS MATT AND JOSS

I agree , people seem to think as soon as you get any money for all your hard work that you are selling out. Selling out is when you change the whole idea for money . It would be good to see money going toward slvsh so it can keep running

I agree with everything.

I would say SLVSH has the potential to become the Berrics of skiing. And I love how they produce more than just games, instabangers, trying different types of games..plus their cinema section of the website with all the high quality ski content right there on one page.

They are the best thing in skiing right now.

Only thing I could suggest is EAST COAST GAMES PLEASE

There were some east coast games this year, but I don’t think they posted them on the site. SLVSH came to my home mountain and it was sick /claim. I can’t find the game tho.

Yea most independent non-cup games they film tend to be released 4-8 months after filming. Considering we're getting close to the 1-2 month break they take off from posting games, we probably won't see it for a couple more months after that.

tryna see a slvsh cup at #BUSHPARKS

also tryna see a slvsh cup at timberline

NS should bombard TLINE's emails/instagram dm's asking for one over the summer

nahhh I hope they get fucking' paid. I'm talking about selling out. Basically ruining everything that makes SLVSH, SVLSH and then getting money for it.

They should have an east coast park build a SLVSH cup park just and have it right after they close for the season, maybe with east coast skiers.

They had one (or two?) down under at perisher which is probably what you're thinking of

Funny that the best part about skiing being in the Olympics is it probably gave joss the resources to start up his own vision of a comp. Just conjecture but I don't think slvsh would be around today without a joss gold at sochi 2014

It really would thinking about it, haven't been in years but having the 1-2 jump line then a handful of crazy rails and jibs at the bottom would be tight.

I wonder if this is the case... I could see it going either way. Like, Joss kinda got screwed over by Fischer shortly after and despite his success at the Olympics and it took a long time for him to eventually get picked up by K2. Also, he was barely in most media coverage because everyone was too busy dating Nick and googling at Gus's puppies.

Couldn't actually speak on behalf of Joss though, I don't really know and I'm just speculating.

We can complain about the b4, but the game should have ended with the 3 swap safety, so I think every thing is ok

No knock to quin kid put up as good a fight as anyone could have against henrik, but henrik also could have ended the game on the jump with a plethora of jump tricks quin most likely can't do had he really wanted to

Fair points, I definitely could be completely wrong ha

Not sure I'd really give hunter the advantage for being a pipe skier on that feature, I feel like the skill behind pipe skiing is landing back in the pipe, ya know?

Very true but I feel like most pipe skiers are incredible jump skiers in general. Having to land back in a pipe requires so much more air awareness than just hitting a straight on jump in my opinion. Not saying he has an unfair advantage or anything but I'd say in general on any jump hit he has the upper hand. He is also used to pipe take-offs more than your average park skier though. However kids obviously just on one regardless

It's not that big of a jump - the options people have are pretty limited. Even a dub 12 in any way would be a stretch and I feel like I've seen this Quin guy do some pretty wild things on jumps. He placed really well in contests earlier in the season by doing dubs all directions.. so I don't think there's tooo much Henrik could have done to beat him on that jump..

Quinn was one spot shy of making the Olympic slope style team for Korea. Beat out by Alex hall, who he beat in this slvsh cup. He almost landed a fuckin SWITCH alley oop dub 10 BLUNT first try...off a side hit.. If that was on his last letter I would bet money on Quinn landing it on his second go. Claiming henny has a “plethora” of tricks Quinn doesn’t..is really silly.

A lot of you guys really underestimate how good Quinn is at skiing. And he’s only gonna get better. Him and Alex hall are on course to become the best park skiers the world has ever seen. By the time they’re henriks age they’re going to be doing things you’d never think were possible, hell they’re doing that now and they’re only 19/20.

Maybe not on that jump, but on a normal large jump Henrik has a ton of butter variations I bet he couldn't do first try.

Like I said "no knock" to quin... but henny does have a plethora of tricks that a lot of skiers don't. Also if he had landed that switch dub ten, you actually would have counted that touch of a grab? In comparison to how henrik grabbed his blunt you really just can't call that a grab. But I guess that's why it's called a blunt grab and not a blunt touch...

I wasn't really speaking about dubs henrik has and quit doesn't granted henny could have whipped out the dub sev, perhaps i'm wrong but I have never seen quit do all four way butter tricks of jumps, Henny can. Like I said no knock to Quin he is one of the best out which is why he beat Ahall and was even in the position to compete against henrik. However Henrik has just about every trick in the book when it comes to jumping. Even his bio ten tindy is something I believe Quin would not be able to lace up first try but that's just my opinion. Not to mention game should have ended on the back 3 swap safety grab. It's a grab not a touch.

I’m not even referencing this particular game, however, you sometimes want to give the skiers the benefit of the doubt when grabbing to see the game go on. I don’t believe a “tap” , “slap”, or “touch” really counts as a grab, but even if you briefly grab it should go in a game of SLVSH.

I mean there’s even been tricks of my own where I don’t think I get the grab, but after slowing down the video real slow after a day of filming I realize I actually lock in the grab, but just for a brief second.

Also, henny is one of the skiers out there who grabs for the whole damn trick, it’s kinda hard to compare anyone’s grabs to his haha.

Well being someone who has riffed and played game before I would not have counted a touch as a grab, sorry man. A touch is like a shuffle to me. You sorta got the trick but didn't... I'm sure if you asked quit whether or not he got that grab he would say no, dudes at that level are perfectionists and don't settle for touches

I just love how scalable this format is. The head to head format is so relatable and endearing, and can be applied really to anything. A big air event SLVSH? Sure. A rail jam SLVSH? No problem. Full park SLVSH cup is honestly the most complicated option and they kill it. I mean the sky is the limit for the model and their brand equity is growing every day. This will be skiing's street league and I can't wait to watch it grow to live TV broadcasts.

Yeah man, live Svlsh would be so fucking good. Again *wink* joss/walker *wink*

The Berrics became popular largely as a result of Battle at the Berrics.

SLVSH is basically the same concept and I could totally see a similar growth trajectory for Joss & Walker. A little more difficult to scale with the lack of a "home base" if you will, but I'd bet on them rolling out new content (like instabangers etc.) in the next few years and becoming the hub of freeskiing. I'd kill to take a look at their DevBoards

I feel like it would be way too slow to work. No one wants to wait while they ride the lift and 10 minutes of game probably takes a few hours to film.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a full game, could be on one rail or one jump that has a fast tow ride up or something. Or what if you had two games going at a time and you just alternated? It would be a ton of work and be difficult to execute, but i wouldn't discourage anyone from dreaming.

Live Slvsh - just have a desk with commentators/casters to cut to between the action, like a real live production.
