SLVSH

Let’s get one thing clear

nick goepper and gus kenworthy are jocks

alex hall is the future living in the present

The set is always judged more harshly than the defense, I thought Steve was actually pretty consistent as far as that goes

Steve did even mention judging "offense" harder than "defense" in the game.

Lmao everyone so butthurt! I think A Hall was just getting fired up when Alexi was pulling out all the stops. Those tricks are nothing to fuck with on a normal basis let alone trying to land them hit after hit.

If I was in A Halls shoes I would have totally pulled out dubs after a barrage of crazy corked nose grabs.

Could the banter have been more wholesome? Sure, but I doubt that we will see 12 year olds flipping off each other off.

Twas surely a battle of the ages indeed, and after nailing defence after defense A Hall deserved it.

100% off topic but have you guys ever noticed this thread has like 2.3k downvotes? How can that many people dislike slvsh?!

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the “score” of the thread is compiled from all upvotes/downvotes in the entire thread so I could see how through 70+ pages it could add up to that

Enough said.

With that kinda cash on the line, no wonder they're all going for the kill. Completely justified.

Agreed. Also its worth noting that aleksi was pissed because Steve didn't count his last set because he only landed with a slight handrag where steve has counted all slight handrags before as legitimate .

Steve did make it pretty clear at one point that he was going to be more lenient with defense calls than with offense calls.

Damn. So whoever makes the next round is guaranteed at least 1k then the two left in the finals are each guaranteed at least 5k.

I don't know if many are still this way but at one point in time a lot of the bigger $ competitions paid out to all finalists. So if you make finals you're guaranteed $. Always thought this was the best way to do it.

Yeah, down voted comments add to that score, there are tons of down voted posts haha

end was filthy, johan had me out of my seat stomping those first tries. also Hunter is a savage for all the 4s out of the down rail

Making him try a trick that he doesn’t want to do is part of the game, and what makes Slvsh so great. He should be gracious about it, not pissed because he doesn’t want to loose. It wasn’t ‘fucking around.’ Careful who you tell to grow up, some of us are.

lol you're acting like such a child, clearly never been in a competitive environment before with money on the line. He was just getting hype and fucking around, why should he be gracious? that makes literally no sense

the reffing on that last game was pretty weak tbh. he didn't really seem completely sure when he made some of those calls. also i thought trivia crack rules are only to be applied once?

The Trivia Crack rule seems to be dependent on the ref, some games it's only used when the person who initially lost rock-paper-scissors gets to V, and sometimes its whenever you get to 3 letters, even if the other person already has a letter or it isn't their first set. I think the rule needs to be more defined because it can really influence the game.

haha trivia crack doesn't just "happen when the ref wants too"

Trina crack is only applied if the set doesn't change naturally. So, if the person who wins the set gives three letters. Trivia crack. And to make it fair to both players, if the second athlete then gives three letters back without loosing the set. Trivia crack. Then its open battle. The point it to give both athletes a fair chance to play the game. But it doesn't stop a skunk situation if the set changes naturally. For example, in Emil vs. Henrik. Emil set his first trick and failed to land it, the set changed 'naturally'. There has never been a single situation where this is different. Its a solid rule and we always make sure they stick to it.

I guess I had never thought of it that way, I had always thought of it as a way give the person who lost rock-paper-scissors a way to even the odds. Thanks for clarifying it for me

thanks for the clarification. it would be super neat to see an "official" list of rules that you guys go off of.

I think Hunter Hess was a SLAPP qualifier?? Which makes him look even more impressive taking Berg and Swadburg, who both are dope skiers. Seriously though, mad props to him, he’s really making a name for himself and it’ll be interesting to see if this cup leads to opened opportunities for him in the future!

Yeah who is Hunter Hess ? Hes sick and Ive never heard of him ? I looked up some of his older videos but there aren't to many . Anyone got some knowledge ?

It still amazes me how people still don't seem to understand the Trivia Crack rule. Every time it happens it's like a broken record. 'Wait why did trivia crack apply? Shouldn't it be blah blahs set?'

It's not fucking rocket science.

Jesus that Underflip Disaster Johan did was straight fire for a first try. Kid is a wild animal for sure.

That whole game was so fire. Only drawback is that this Aleksi guy seems to think that saying something like "johan missed the grab - letter to him" should instead require a thirty minute analysis spoken at the pace of a sloth.

Look, I know this guy. I can personally testify that this guy has been in many competitive environments ON SKIS and is an insane skier. He has been there, but I think he was trying to highlight a point. The pitchfork army has been slamming him. I get where you're coming from, but maybe people are jumping on it a little too hard. All said, respect man. We're all here because we love skiing.

He reminds me of when A Hall popped on the scene. Everyone was just like "WHAT WHO IS THIS GUY". So stoked to see his future stuff and stoked to see him repping Bachelor.
