SLVSH

Super underwhelming Slvsh cup so far. Alex Bellemare and Wolf was better the second time I watched it. Also helped I watched it right after I watched game 2. Can't wait to see some of the bigger names. Still mad respect for Slvsh and everything they do for the sport!

ABM is Alex Beaulieu Marchand and is not Alex Bellemare. Understandable mixup tho they're both Quebec guys

Holy shit, Dollo straight for the throat! 6 on 2 out both ways like its fucking childs play.

After watching that I can't see how anyone is going to come close to beating him, he would have the entire park on lock

Steve when he realizes emil's game was shorter than his

You have to remember that at a certain level it's not what tricks people can do (because they all can pretty much do everything within 1 to 2 tries), but who has the set and who chooses their tricks better.

It's sick that this game of skiing has got to the point like high level games of skate where everyone can essentially do (or figure out in their head and attempt) every trick. Now it comes down to trick choice and execution. I find it much more exciting when the games are matched like this and not just about who has the crazier trick.

I’m not doubting edollos W, but did anyone else think he missed that nose grab? Maybe the angle was bad, but looked like he just tapped it. I’m really not too upset, just kinda wanted to see harlaut do tricks that other people set lol

Why didn't Magnus call trivia crack after Emil got his third letter?

Only applies when they haven't had a chance to set a trick. Emil went first and just missed his trick

I've thought that it was when you get to three letters and the person setting has none

The rule is there to prevent someone from getting beaten 5-0 without having had a chance to set a trick. It only switches after 3 letters if the other person hasn't set a trick yet. Since Emil started the round and fell, it didn't apply, since he already had a set

I agree, to a certain extent.

There are guys in this cup that couldn't lace a 6 on 2 out both ways first try back to back like dollo just did. That 4 on nose was another one which would have gotten most people i think. I do think Emil could have done a bit more damage if he kept his set off the bat, he is crazy good.

You also have to remember that Dollo has been lapping this (his) park for years now, and would have by far the most crazy/technical lines on every other rider there.

Either way, I can't wait for these games to keep rolling out. Thank you SLVSH for keeping a washed up old-waver like me interested!

not all quebec guys are the same... they both have been on the scene for 10 years. thats my point

two dudes from basically the same place, with similar style and basically the same name....I can see how people would get confused

People have been mixing them up for years, its quite common...

My takeaway from that Henrik/Emil game was that Henrik loves freeskiing more than I ever could have imagined. Talking about what segments songs he was listening to were from is cool, but something as oldschool as any Craig Coker segment is amazing.

Unpopular opinion maybe but, anyone think this comp might be heavily sided towards Henrik? Not bashing him. Obviously, he's extremely good, but, the park was built specifically for him and he's been lapping that park for the last who knows how many weeks/months.. He knows each feature better than anyone so I feel like most tricks people will call on him he could have tried on that feature already giving him extra practice compared to everyone

I think that while Henrik has been skiing this park a ton they have been doing a SLVSH cup there for the last few years so it makes sense for them to go back and on top of that Henrik has to be one of the most highly requested skiers to do a game of SLVSH so it was probably just easiest for them to get him to compete if he was already going to be at the park for other reasons.

Henrik has to be the most or one of the most solid skiers in the world... who else can land tricks like that consistently

Yes there's the "it's his park" factor, he's at home, it's maybe a little easier for him. But damn...

Emil is already such a solid skier, and to see him getting letter after letter like that, it really puts everything into perspective on how insanely talented Dollo actually is.

Wallisch, Hatveit, Henshaw, Woodsy, Jossi, AHall, etc.

i re-watched the old woodsy vs wallisch match from a few years ago and wallisch was just such a machine, so clean and consistent.

Surprised SLVSH doesn't have a naked lap rule if you don't get any letters. Think this should be instituted.

Or like trolling in beer pong but you sit as a tap feature after a rail while everyone else plays

Never said they were the same but I feel ya, my response did kinda sound that way. I was just acknowledging people mix them up often and the fact that they're both French Canadian is a big part of that. Cheers g.

only one who could take henny down in this cup is antti. why's he not in the cup?

AHall could pull some rail/cork wizardry out of his hat though.

IDK about giving Johan the tail grab on that back 8 out but otherwise so sick. great game Quinn is one of my fave refs now for sure

Yeh that was a tight call. Johan dropped out of frame for a bit so he may have tickled it for a second.

I don't mind the ref giving the benefit of the doubt to the rider with those real tight one, and i think Quinn did that real well.

Sketchy, but I'd give him a pass. He definitely had his fingers wrapped around the ski, even though it was for such a short time.

Sick game; Quinn did a good job reffing. I like seeing super strict reffing sometimes, and I like seeing looser reffing. As long as it is consistent.

For sure, when they do the trick even if its loose it should count
