SLVSH

Hanka's an animal goddamn, wasn't expecting that.

Surprised the tails over was what caught up Dale so much, but then again those are hard/scary as fuck

Damn! Some crazy trick calls from Noah and Hugo, too bad it didn't last longer, would have love to see some more of their tricks.

What's up with the guys going straight for the jugular? The vibe seemed way more relaxed last year... Is the prize money super high or something?

I feel like the Jonah v Johan game was pretty normal. Dudes calling there tricks.

But Dale and Noah are coming back from injuries. I think they are super hungry. They have something to prove. So they are pulling out all the stops.

Just my two cents.

rodeo 9 dub critical and Hugo was doing that in such an awkward direction. Finally got a bracket call correct though so hopefully Noah can take it all the way for me.

I think the guys are just stoked to compete, when these guys do a normal slvsh game, they talk about it like a couple days before then head out to a pretty relaxed enviroment and go ski.

At the slvsh cup, people have been thinking about this for a few weeks, if not longer, then they all go to the same resort, hang out and ski for a week all together, some guys will get more fired up than the others.

anyone else 3/3? (=

no im 2/3 now i didnt expect noah to wipe hugo that badly

but at the same time that call by the judge when noah didnt make it all the way to the end of the rail bothered me a bit. Judging felt a little slanted there

i agree. I wouldn't have given that the go ahead but I think noah was winning either way.

Agreed, the reffing was a little iffy.

I also think its odd that the games are reffed by people in the cup. There is definitely bias at play on who they want to win based on who they'll play. Seems like they're are a bunch of other skiers there that aren't in the cup, why can't they ref?

That rodeo 9 was a harsh one to call knowing what way Hugo was having to spin on it.

but isn't the whole point to win? If i knew i had a trick in the bag that the other guy definitely couldn't pull of i'd go for it. Makes it exciting and IMO really shows the uniqueness of each skier and this style of competition

Maybe I am misunderstanding your comment

I seriously doubt any of them would ref a game in a way that could benefit themselves. The whole appeal of slvsh is that it's not taken too seriously which creates an awesome environment for the riders to 'compete' in.

It doesnt bother me that the games are reffed by people in the cup i think it adds to the excitement cause it keeps them all involved. its just this particular game that the reffing seemed biased towards noah. I wanted hugo to win but noah did do a really good job in that game. the iffy judging just made his win not as sweet

I definitely don't agree here. 1 hugo wouldn't have won even if that one call was different, it was fine. 2 the guys in the cup are by far most qualified, the aren't going to sabatage anyone haha

I never said he would've won or that it even impacted the outcome of the game, the reffing just didn't feel consistent. I don't really mind, that's the nature of the game. I was just commenting on it.

I don't think people really have a motive to consciously ref in a way that sabotages anyone. But subconsciously they have a bias moreso than someone outside of the competition. It seems like there are plenty of guys not in the cup that are qualified to ref. I just don't see why you would want the guys involved in the cup over someone equally qualified that isn't competing. Maybe I'm splitting hairs over a nonissue.

Either way it doesn't really matter that much, at the end of the day it's just slvsh

Making your opponent who spins the other way naturally try a rodeo 9 off a hip is pretty ruthless, especially to close out a game . No really in the spirit of the game IMO . Other than that Noah's tricks were dope

That was the shittiest call...

I love watching these guys lace tricks that they've never tried before. It's so good to watch, gives you a real insight into their ability, as well as the size of their nuts.

what was with Jer opting out of the rodeo 5 safety?

not sure but i guess he just didnt even bother trying.. right rodeo 5 seems relatively safe to try (compared to most of the shit they do at least) but we all have our bugaboos. if someone asked me to do a switch right anything id just go okay give me the letter haha

meh i guess, i would figure someone with a bag of tricks that deep could swing a opp rodeo. I throw right rodeos, i feel like trying a left rodeo wouldn't be the craziest thing ever but who knows.

I mean to reacal that Dale don't do much unnatural tricks. He's more of an urban/film skier and don't need to learn everything unnatural as well. So kind of a lowblow from Hanka, but then again its slvsh cup and stakes are high :)

Just want to point out that plenty of film skiers develop their unnatural slides and spins as well and can be a huge part of the shot if you've been paying attention to how they hit rails.

We got brackets back up, but they are definitely a bit buggy -- It'll still show your picks correctly but for some reason sometimes they show up in the wrong bracket. We're working on getting it fixed, but until then feel free to use this link to view bracket.
