SLVSH

So Trivia Crack applies both ways? A-Hall already set at the start, gave Laker 3 straight, Trivia Crack switched the set, then Laker gave him 3 straight, and then the set went back to A-Hall. Just curious as I thought that Trivia Crack was brought in to avoid a straight shut out from the Giray game and only applied one time.

If somebody wins the set, that should count for something. To take their set away after giving 3 letters without losing the set, and then let the other person have the opportunity to run them with 5 straight letters and win... You'd ideally never want to win RPS if that was the case.

I think that two, maybe three games have ever gone double trivia crack. Laker and A Hall are just both unreal consistent hahah

A Hall went straight for the jugular on his last set. He already got Laker on the closeout 360, then did a closeout 540 for the win.

Next game should be interesting. Øystein could have won every single game so far by just throwing huge tricks on the jump, but kept it more creative and "mellow" with tech rail combos etc. A little more fair if you ask me. A Hall sort of did the opposite in against Laker.

This final will be a great game, AHall has really turned it on lately and gotten dialed in and braten is always killing it. Really excited for this game

i mean, he sort of had to, there are no big jumps in this park. When Oystein played magnus too i mean he did play his forte's, throwing switch 9s and some tech grabs on the jump, and magnus stepped up. Throwing crazy tricks and challenging the other skier in the game is what keeps this interesting

also, Ahalls calls were totally fair. Laker is well known for his tech rail skills, so throwing tech rail tricks was fair game. The stall on the close out is circumstantial as well, laker missing it the first time doesn't mean he can't do it, its such a sensitive trick that carrying the wrong speed could easily throw you off, it was more of an opportunity for redemption

I don't get this. Why skiers should be expected to ski at a lower level based off of their opponent?

Not a lower level. I'm just saying Øystein could probably huck a double on that jump, but keeps it interesting by doing more tech rail stuff. That park is mainly rails anyway.

It's obvious not every skier who has played a game of slvsh so far has gone balls to the walls and thrown the hardest tricks every time. What makes it so good is how they try new stuff, and how they have a similar bag of tricks. Off course that changes a bit when they have cups like they do now.

I'm just under the impression that some of the contestants are a bit more competitive than others, and have a different approach to the game. Some go all in and throw the hardest tricks they can, or tricks they know their opponent will struggle with, and some have amore laid back approach to it and call more "average" tricks, somewhat equally challenging to both. Turns out pretty entertaining either way. I'm not hating on any of them.

Well, if you try to send big tricks and you don't land, your opponent gets the set. Even from a competitors perspective, it probably doesn't make sense to go ham. Better off picking interesting tricks that you think you can stomp that may be tricky for your opponent.

okay i'm sorry, but i honestly do not understand all the kids hating right now

look at the most recent slvsh instgram, there are so many children literally complaining about the judging its unbelievable. First of all, SLVSH is FREE content that people develop and put out with money from their own pockets, appreciate it. Two, there are no prizes or implications for these guys winning the slvsh cup, its FOR FUN, they don't care if they win and neither should you

Remember that the whole point of this thing is that it is FOR FUN, just like the sport of freeskiing in general. If you want to get heated about a sport with winners and losers, then theres dozens of other sports to choose from where you can do that, but freeskiing is positive vibes only

slvsh cup is so on point right now. I think the judging is the best part. It gives the games personality. Especially since the judges are guys from the other games.

I don't care who wins, but I love watching every single game.

There is prize money for Cups. We also had 8 filmers and 4 games going on simultaneously, so we had to hire 6 extra filmers and a photographer. All of whom had to travel to Andorra. Plus, skiers aren't going to just fly from the states or Canada or Norway on their own dime for zero possible prize purse. Big ups to Grandvalira for making this event happen. Also Monster and hotel Llop Gris.

With that said, skiers are still having fun and trying to make good games. A lot of them just care about whether they made a good game. Some want to win. It's all good fun tho.

All regular season slvsh games and Instabangers tho. You're right. Nobody plays for, or makes anything, yet.

can the next SLVSH cup be at breck? I think that would be the best park. You have everything, jibs and perfect jumps. I'd happily donate to the SLVSHcup kickstarter if you set one up.

Please message Breck and tell them!

Yeah fair enough I remembered Evan got some cash after I wrote that.

Regardless does anyone come to this event because of the possibility of making big money? It sounds like they are more focused on having fun and making some good games happen.

So it that brings me back, if you are one of the people complaining about a comp where pros and filmers travel great distances for the main purpose of making exciting viewing content, then stop. Maybe they won't do it next time, and then we will have something real to complain about

damn hadn't heard too much about alex hall other than a few edits but kid has come out of nowhere to just slay. Big ups to everyone involved with this latest slush cup. Watching these matches before work has been a great way to start my day :) tbh a bit butthurt anti didn't make finals

sorry for giving a suggestion. Thought this was a forum...

Well your suggestion sucks. Might as well have it at key. Haven't seen much footy from key in the past few years. It should be at troll or bear, then maybe there would be some snowboard vs skier fights.

Slvsh cup is dope. People hating suck. Bummed that anti is out. He was 100% the funnest to watch

I thought it was quite a good suggestion. Breck has the best jumps, and a fuckton of jibs with all different levels creativity options. Sunset and Perisher are cool parks but they're pretty small and limit just how much one skier can do. So if you hosted it at a bigger mountain, one skier wouldn't have an advantage over another.

Having worked for Vail Resorts I'm guessing the logistics of setting up a SLVSH Cup at Breck would be challenging, but not impossible. However, I agree it would be one of the best venues for the next Cup. I can see it now... Tiger Gap calls, Lulu calls, would be so legit!

True, all they would have to do is give up all rights to their footage to make it happen... I'm sure that would go over well. Fuck Vail.

Glad he got to play one more game with Laker. Blender sw misty (?) was dope

the FAA doesnt allow Vimeo on office computers but youtube ( werid ) luckily i have an ipod-phone an can still watch haha SLVSH gets me thru my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unfortunately ...... that judge for the consolation game could have been better. I disagree with some of those calls, but I'm no pro

Rad game. It's a pity the finals didn't have great weather because it would have been crazy to see what happened in perfect conditions but amazing games, perfect park and the best 'comp' skiing has seen for some time.

My bracket definitely got fucked, but I think I had A Hall to take the win so there's that.

I wish Vinny G got further but still the sickest way to do comp skiing is probably slvsh.

Also the webisode format is so much sicker than TV.( remember X games, where half the runs were overlapped by basement dwelling halo addicts.)

Congrats to Hall, and please do another cup sometime slvsh!

Like a true ski comp, the finals were in shitty conditions, haha. Now it's official, SLVSH is the best comp out there. Can't wait for the next cup.

Pretty sure people are just bent out of shape because the winner might have fucked up their bracket but honestly who cares. Slvsh cup is great, just chill and watch some great skiing.
