Slr ?

yeah but its a fully manual camera. aperture, shutter speed, iso, all that jazz you control. slr means single lens reflux.

there's no implication that SLR are fully manual. Single lens reflEx cameras allow you to see how the focus changes when you focus the lens, directly. yes, most SLR cameras offer interchangable lenses but that's not the main idea.

Ya the Single Lens Reflex just means that when you look through the camera you are seeing through the actual lens.

yea. on alot of cheap cameras the viewfinder is above or slightly to the side of the actual lens, but with an slr camera you look through the lens, so you get exactly what you see

with slr camras there is also a mirror that flips when u take the picture....leting the light hit the film or sensor if u are using digital....

 
ok thx, yeah the ability to look directly in the lens seem very practical,

i'm looking for a good a one, maybe the d70...good choice ??

 
I like Canon's personally and that's all I've ever had or played around with. Does anyone have input on a Nikon D70?

it depends what u wana do, if u are goin to be doing a lot of flash stuff go with the d70, b/c it syncs at 1/500th (20d has syncs at 250), and u can control nikon flashes(that are off camera) w/o any transmitter. if u wana make sequences,and bigger better prints go with the 20d. i have a 20d and i love it.

 
i'll have to agree. i have no problems with the 20d. i like how the AF sensors are positioned in a diamond.

also one thing i have heard is that the canon autofocus is better then the nikon, i dont use nikons that often, but i have found this to be true in some cases.....but the person who told me this is also the most hardcore nikon person i have ever met......so yeah.
