Slopstyle Ski Poles

Hey you out there,

Are you also tired of skiing around with these stingy short poles that you found in the basement, or spray painted to cover the horrific design.

Well, the German Ski pole company Leki wants to bring out a freeride/slopestyle pole, and WE can input our ideas for the product...

What do you want to have on a ski pole, and what is useless?

Some Ideas:

Belt holder for poles, so that they can be carried like a sword.

super light material, but flexible to avoid instant breakage.

exchangable plates for powder days and park days

detachable straps

....???

make them strong so they can have weight put on for butters and stuff of that sort, also non chippable, or less able to chip paint

other than the sword thing all those ideas are what pole companies already do. If you make a pole under 10 bucks, that'll be perfect.

obnoxious bright colors, special grip for the bottom two fingers, and thinner for the index and ring allowing for better grabz

yes, this is a fantastic idea. my dads old kermas had them and they pulled off when you crashed so you wont sprain a wrist...i also agree with bobaburg, not $80 armada poles, but nice $10 ones

Make them outta something flexible

my poles have more curves in them from bending them back then racers poles...

cool grips maybe with like a ball on top like an 8ball so that you can grip it from the top like a gearshifter. Maybe make it look like a gearshifter thatd be dope. Composite. Make the straps cool with like studs or soemthing idk. Neon colors.

yeaaaaaaaaaaa make one pole handle have a lighter on top and the other one put a bowl and have a stash in the pole handle, yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I would really like a set of pole with the following:

1. Good graphics (not "Xtreme" graphics, but good graphics)

2. The ability to make the poles short for riding park and then to pull them out for some pow, and given that Leki already uses this tech, I think it would be beneficial to add that tech in the park poles.

3. Not too bulky grip and straps

4. Cheap price, because most park skiers would not be willing to pay $80 dollars for poles. Reason being that in the unlikely event that I break my poles I would rather have to buy cheap poles twice a year than to buy two expensive poles.

Isn't there a company that has a flask built into their poles... if not there should be. I also like the idea of cheap. My poles don't even match cause I go through them too quick to care.

make it so you can store liquids in the poles. and CHEAP is theeee most important thing. Thats pretty much the main reason most of us turn to rental poles instead of buying some.

nice one,

so what we have now is:

1. Belt holder rocks

2. grip has to be good for grabbing

3. CHEAP

4. durable

5. maybe with extendable function

6. Graphics have to be sick

.....

anymore ideas from you guys out there.

im digging the feedback.

Yeah i agree will all of that so far. However, the extendable function might add too much weight so I don't know if it's a good idea. I think the 2 most important thing is that it is CHEAP and DURABLE because skiers around here always tend to break/bend them so we think that there is no point in spending money for poles. Also a freestyle specific grip would be great. I really like armadas love handles [http://www.armadaskis.com/product/poles/handles.php ] they look great and are easy to grab. By the way i always use my sister's Lexi Equipe SC poles because they're nice and light and short.

yeah somthing that flexes like a ski in all directions and bends back into place. it seems like every time i crash i have to stand up and bend my poles back into shape.

put a tiny little screw at the top so it can be used as a monopod for a camera. My friend made one like that, it was such a good idea.

such a good idea, or at least a little compartment to put the hand warmers in,

so far

hand warmer pocket in grip or heated grip

VERY durable

light weight

belt holder

sick graphics.

for something that might actualy help with 'freestyle' if the bottoms were wieghted it would theoreticaly help you pull a spin around, inertia and all that shit.

Right,

to put things staight, the poles will have to have a certain style to them, not just functions!

Scott poles ahve some really sick designs on them.

Graffiti sketches, neon colours and camoflage are all already available. how do you guys like that?

My Idea:

Make theme poles such as: Samurai style

or Middle Ages sword styles.
