id say slipknot put on one of the best shows ive seen in a while

when the drummers hydrolics took him upside down and spun him around and he was STILL ripping shit up it was amazing

that is just comical. they put up a front that they are super hardcore, and that they are devil worshippers. now, i am 99% sure that they dont spend any time 'worshipping' satan, except when they are on stage. it sucks in all these fans, who believe them and end up supporting them by buying their merch and music. is all about the money, folks. and about the hardcore act, i dont know what website i went to, but it said that before you come on it, there are two things you should know. one was that it wasnt porn, and the other said that slipknot is NOT hardcore, and if you are a slipknot fan, leave now. they are hated by the real hardcore community, because they are frauds. so all in all, they are just a big joke to me.

I saw slipknot live my freshman year, they were actually pretty good, and they put on a really good show. But that's exactly what it is, a show

 
nah man i disagree, hardcore can be amazing, if it is done right. i half agree with you in that most hardcore really sucks, where the focus is on just being loud, but there are some bands that have mastered how to make a good hardcore song, and they are worth listening to.

i love slipknot, maybe my fav band but i would not call them hardcore metal. as far as a gimmick, i first thought they were stupid as hell for having 9 members, and dressing that way. but awhile after they came out i listened to them and really got into them. as far as teh satanism, it is just to piss people off. they are not satanists at all but just do it to get a reaction out of people, and it worked.

If the pigs were gathering in Vegas, I felt the drug culture should be represented as well. -Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
