Sliding on wet carpet?

Yeah so on my set up we slide down the drop ramp on left over carpet that i have. it gives us plenty of speed to do a 12 foot flat box a little over a foot off the ground.

we wet teh carpet down and put soap on it and it works fine but we have to re wet it a ton.

i was wondering if anyone has ever put a tarp down underneath the carpet that they use to try to hold the water for longer? and if so how well has that worked?

I might try it next time but we only have huge tarps that are going to be a pain to cut so i wanted to see if anybody has tried something like this...

make sure you have something hard under the carpet cause that helps with speed and if its wood it gets wet and helps the carpet stay wet but id wonder about the tarps if anyones done this id like to know too

yeah i have pressure treated underneath the top but the wood soaks up alot so thats why i was wondering. it seems like alot of water is lost through the bottom since it is the woven stuff.

yeah, that stuff is expencive tho. is it really worth it? I no it lasts a few days but it doesnt seem to be worth the 30$

^maybe, i think he just wants to find a way to hold the water in the carpet so that he doesnt have to wet it so often

yeah it looks legit. We might try it, i dont no, there is an ice rink near us that we can get shavings from. i guess if its really only 2$ per session it would be worth it

i did pretty much exactly wut u did fo a drop-in, iz jus leftover carpet on like, thick plywood and 2x4s.... i didnt really have to wet it more than like once or twice wit soap and water, jus make sure u drench it...

we used a mix of snow and carpet today and it worked great. we had 2 11 foot boxes set up in a row. it was perfect speed. next time i might try using that tarp but that will only give enough speed for one box most likely. that snowgel stuff sounds interesting and i might have to try that out sometime too. that would be more convenient than driving all the way to the ice rink so sounds like a good idea

^yeah that worked well. to bad i couldnt ski for shit today. we got to set it up again before I head to maine. Saterday????
