Sliding Burning Rails

We all want to slide a rail on fire sometime in our lives...I was wondering can it be done without setting your skis on fire? Would your skis act like a squee-g and pool up the gas on your front foot?

your skis won't catch on fire. they have a 'bbq rail' at keystone. it's like a 50' rainbow rail that they set on fire at night. they had some footy of it earlier in the year on their site but i can't find it now.

it's so sick.. it's high, probably about 17' off the ground? that's just a guess, but it's got to be pretty close. it has silhouttes of naked chicks on each side of it. it's pretty intimidating the first time you hit it.

 
dont think it would screw up your skis as long as you went fast enough.

their is a picture of keystones rail in the last issue of freeskier i think

its a big rainbow with propane burners through it. i think its 17 feet in the middle and at least aboot 60 long.

but you can pour gas on any rail and lite it on fire.

even if you fall on it you wont catch fire, and you skis will not soak up any gas while slideing.

its all aboot the physics

damn. after looking at that pic you would think that the rail would get pretty damn hot if they left it running and fuck up your bases bad. anyone know if anyone has hit that

 
Try using ethyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) instead of gasoline. It burns at a low temperature. My friends would play flaming hacky sack using that stuff.

One word, propane. The Keystone rainbow is 17' from base to peak, yet realize that the trannys on the sides go to the mesh, or just below the two ladies. There are holes drilled into the top of the rail, so that propane flows out. The propane is the only thing that burns if you have enough speed!! If you are too slow, shit burns, but the snow on the ground is close enough for a quick extinguisher. Pros only with fire, anyone can stomp it without fire. Fire is only for effect, not really practical for the urban rail sess.

 
It's doubtful that your skis will catch on fire if you slide it at normal speed, but there's always the chance that the paint will start melting and the 'goo' will get stuck on your gear, which would definitely not be good.
