Any people up in here ever slept in an airport? Because of wonderful standby Im stuck in Denver until tomorrow morning, so pretty sure im just gonna bum it and fine a nice cozy corner in the Denver Airport for the night
I've done it and it wasn't that bad. I've also done it and had it been one of the most miserable experiences ever. Depends on the airport.
The latter was in a small airport with nothing to do and no benches or any way to get comfortable. The lobby doors were open all night and it wasn't too far above freezing.
If you're prepared for that and have a sleeping bag or blanket it won't be that bad. Make sure you loop your hands around your luggage so it doesn't get swiped.
i've slept in many airports.. its not the best thing ever... if you're stuck without a padded bench or something, take out your hoodies or jackets or whatever you have with you, and lay on them.. the little bit of padding makes a big difference..
keep your eye out for a maintenance/janitor guy and tell him your situation and see if he could grab you a cot of some sort. sometimes you'll get lucky.
other than that.. its just uncomfortable sleep, killing time on your phone, or wandering the airport..
done it a bunch- i got snowed in a lot coming home from college.
vicodin, ambien, and xanax are must-haves in airports for this, and many other reasons.
if you have to sleep on the floor, i suggest sleeping on your back, putting your biggest bag under your knees(takes a ton of weight off the ground and flattens your back to evenly distribute pressure) and something soft for your head.
I've done it in a few. San Fran is the worst. Use hoodies and things to cushion and make sure your bags are under your knees or head so it doesn't get jacked.
