Sleeping at Resorts

Planning on making a weekend trip and camping out of my truck bed. Do you think the resort would care if slept in the lot? Has anyone has any experience doing this sort of thing? +k for help!!
 
It depends on the place really. For instance, I believe at A-Basin there are signs specifically prohibiting overnight parking (at least in the lower lot).

I feel like they wouldn't care but maybe you should call and ask. A few weekends ago I left my car in the parking lot at Winter Park for two nights since the room we rented didn't have enough parking available nearby.

If it was someplace like Breck though where parking is super limited I feel like my car would have been towed.
 
I wouldn't ask because you probably aren't allowed, but I doubt anyone would notice, Especially if they can't see into where you're sleeping. If you aren't allowed to park in the lot, find a sheltered spot to park nearby. Also try to park out of the wind, use a thermarest to sleep on, wear long thermal underwear, a toque and your boot liners inside a good sleeping bag. Also, lighting a lighter for a minute inside your sleeping bag will warm you fast if you wake up cold in the middle of the night.

Kinda what I was thinking. Rather ask for forgiveness rather than permission. I'm sleeping in the back of a pickup with a tarp for a tent. It's going to look hella sketch so hopefully they don't kick me out
 
I've lived in my truck for extended periods of time. Stay out of private lots and lots with posted "no over night parking" signs. I've found refuge in public library lots many of times some with free WiFi accessible from the parking lot.
 
Also if it's stormy. The plow truck drivers will wake you up and ask you to move on occasion. They are normally nice guys just trying to do their jobs. Just be nice and pull of the a section of the lot that has already been cleared.
 
i usually park in a hotel parking lot. continental breakfast and the occasional hot tub access if you are sneaky
 
At my home mountain mt hood meadows they have a specific place in the back of the lot off to their side for weekend warriors and people to park their campers, trucks, and cars to sleep in. So just call the front desk of the resort to see if they have a specific place for such a thing.
 
Most resorts prohibit overnight parking because they plow the lots at night, if its not gonna snow you might be okay, but you'd be better off finding walmart or something and parking there, if its close by. You could just send it but you might get waken up at 3am being told to leave. See if they have signs first, if they don't then you at least have an excuse, but if they have signs then you probably shouldn't try.
 
You're just setting a tarp up in the bed of your truck? That sounds super sketch... But most places seem chill about or will have a separate RV lot that you can go and camp in. Just remember to layer up and keep warm. Personally I'd be sleeping in the cab so if it gets to cold I can always fire up and run the heater for a while to get things toasty.

I'm 6 ft in a little single ranger cab. Can't comfortably sprawl out so that's why I'm going sketchy and sleeping in the bed. Weather looks alright this weekend so I might just sleep in the back open air in the parking lot and hope for the best

A basin lower lot is chill, theres always people there. I've heard CDOT at loveland pass is also chill but very loud. I haven't had any problems at Keystone, just park near a lightpole so plows can get the rest of the lot. Copper is the only place that "officially" allows it I think
