i didn't get into u of u which is really bumming me out, would it be worth going to slcc and trying to transfer?

i know a few people who have done that- i think it could totally be worth it if you wanted to be in SLC, absolutely

have you looked into westminster, its a better school and easy to get into it can be pricey tho

It's a good idea... SLCC is one of the better community colleges i've ever seen, and i'm sure you can plan it so all of your credits transfer to U of U.

No dorms, but housing around SLC is easy to find. Also, U of U has this new in state policy that is you live in Utah continually for 12 months you get instate.... so if you go to SLCC for a semester or even a whole year it'll end up saving you some money. Might as well get those Gen. Eds out of the way for cheap then transfer when tuition is like $2000 a semester.

im going to slcc this summer and continuing in the fall, two of my roomates this past year went and enjoyed it. like everyone else is saying its good because you get in state tuition at the u after living there for a year and you can get all of your general bullshit classes out of the way for cheap.
i guess its super easy to transfer to slcc to the u too, one of my roomates did it to try and go to the u in the spring of this year but didnt end up going because he wanted to wait to get in state prices. its something ridiculous like you only have to have a 2.0 gpa at slcc and take an aptitude test which is super easy too. ill figure out the exact details and get back to you.

westminsters deadline is long past, although it is a really good school.

i think going to SLCC for a bit and transfering is a solid idea

yeah thats what i was thinking about,

i found pretty cheap studio apartments, but i dont know if i wanna live all alone yet.

do you have to live there a full 12 months to get instate nyone know?

You can apply for instate before you live here for 12 months but it wont start til its been 12 months. I paid out of state for fall and spring and then the next fall I got cheap tutition.

Also theres always people looking for roomates on this site and on craigslist. Ide check that out before looking into a studio apartment by yourself.
