anyone know of cheap apartments in Salt lake city? im moving out there in august and thought i would ask some fellow ns'ers

i got a room for rent, private entrance, not sure how much it will cost a month... havn't figured that out yet.

I agree. It's on the east side of the valley, close to the U of U, and more importantly, fairly close the canyons.

Ya Sugarhouse is dope. Thats where I live but it's not so cheap. I know there's quite a few apartments around the U. There's a lot of people that rent out there basements.

my friend will be lookin for an appartment in november when he gets back from chile, if you can tolerate stoner hippie telemark freeskiers his name on here is twintipteles

^ HA. shot? In UTah? Doubt it. The Sugarhood area is way dope, as are the avenues.... not the cheapest, but good shit, close to the U, most parties in the city, and easy to get to the canyons. Anything on 1300 East is ballin.

You do realize there is a whole nother half of the valley on the other side of that big long freeway thing? Everything north and west of like 2100 s and State is fucking GHETTO. Back to the subject though. You really shoudn't get an apartment if you don't have to. Round up 2 other roomies and get a cool old 3 bed 2 bath house. Really, they're everywhere. Check out Sugarhouse, Millcreek (this is where I live and its sick), Holladay and Cottonwood Heights.

You are a dipshit. Although SLC is no Compton or Harlem, there are some Polynesian gangs in West Valley that could rumble with ANYONE.

Except when I drove public transportation 4 days a week to work in West Valley (2607 South, 3200 West) Don't take shit to literal.... I know people get shot in SLC, but it is one of the cleanest/safest cities I've been to. Being from near Cincinnati I'm used to a pretty terrible city, where it's wayyy dirty and the "West Valley" of Cincy is like third world.

u called him a dipshit for what???? i bet the mormons would silence those gangs before anything even happend. mormons built that city and run the fuck out of it. look at the stupid bridge thing there building anyone want to pay 140 bucks to walk across some glass bridge?? id rather take my chances gettin in a rumble with some polynesian gangs.

Calm down man, SLC is very safe for the most part, I thought anyone from SLC would get it. Oh and I really don't know what your talking about with the glass bridge stuff and the Mormon stuff, the SLC area is predominately non-mormon now, and the mayor is pretty liberal.

No are you?

Sure it was founded by Mormons but they make up less than half the city's pop now. This is from a tourism site:

"Although SLC is known mostly for the 2002 Winter Olympics and its predominant mormon religion, that is just the beginning. Utah, in general is a very diverse place. In the city less than half the population is Mormon..."

Here's the lnk if you don't believe me:

gateway, the momos are pissin off the indians or some shit i heard cuz of what there doin to gateway, u say u live in salt lake, but havnt heard of the new plans

i go to west high and im not even kidding i saw a mexican kid with a gat today in the parking lot. scared me, being the little white protected bitch that i am.

the sky bridge you speak of is in the mall district that is being torn down and rebuilt as a new "center of the city". They (rocky anderson, mayor) is fighting to not have a sky bridge put in between two buildings on i can't remember what street on the second or third level. If you are talking about the indians, a tribe built a glass bottomed u shaped sky bridge over the edge of the grand canyon. tickets to walk on it are 40 or 50 bucks-ish. If you're talking indians in the city, everything that gets dug up in the city hits old ruins of something. when they put in trax next to the delta center they dug up old pit houses that were only 2 or 3 feet below the streets surface. they have dug up pioneer housing remains, indian burial plots, pioneer burial plots, garbage dumps from the early settlers of the city. and before you go run your mouth, the population of salt lake is 30% lds, maybe mid 30's. the highest concentration of lds is utah county. everywhere else it's pretty diluted and a good mix of everyone. and park city is the highest liberal concentration. know at least a little itty bit piece of info before you spew off. and rich, when I work my concrete gig in the summer, I work with alot of samoans. the farther west you go from state north of 19th south, is gang land. the area around the business park backcountry is located in is fairly nice and then you get into 37thish south and below for a couple miles and it's ghetto again. the south end of the valley is cleaning up, with all the new subdivisions moving in, daybreak and the such... you taking over milly's job when she leaves?

hahah r u butthurt about something? your right i dont know much about the gaybridge maybe u can see ur gang buddies while ur walkin back and forth on it. too bad you cant see past the state lines where theres real gangs.

i dont know...i was in this smoking shop on state the other day (the most absolute raddest smokeshop ever too, somewhere in between 45th and 27th) where a random dude came in and started talking about a shooting that went down the day before a block down the road. shootings do occur all over the place here, of course its not as bad as other places, but there still are some sketchy spots here. then again, its not as if any skier i know would really live in the west side anyway..its just too far away from the canyons. oh yeah, another deal that went down somehwere on the west side this past winter was that some dude supposedly pulled up to a gas station, doused the car itself in gas, climbed in, and lit the thing up. burned both him and another woman alive. i dont know about you guys, but id label that as some sketchy ass shit.

i've spent a decent amount of time in slc, and my home town is columbus, ohio. slc is a fucking walk in the park compared to where i come from. i've been held up at gunpoint, shot at, my friend shot in the stomach, and me jumped for no reason. this shit is hard. i know there have been shootings there (the thing at the mall as of late) but it's not shit compared to a normal big city (cinci, colum, cleveland, ohio). where ever you live in slc, it'll be fine. i wouldn't be too concerned.

True. I lived in the Wash DC for 2 yrs (top 5 murda city every yr) and SLC is sooo clean and safe in comparison. However, it does have some areas where you could get into trouble if you are stupid.

I would much rather live in Sandy or Sugarhouse than the Westside, especially for the skiing.

As far as the bridge debate mentioned above, they are trying to rejuvinate a dying downtown business area with new development since the Gateway lured all the business away from crossroads, it gets cold walkin around in the winter and there is a lot of traffic, so what's your problem?

ha ha. ha ha haha. ya i'm butthurt. uh huh. Some people actually watch or read the news. Do I give a shit about seeing your gay buddies while walking on the bridge? nope. you're a tough one you are. Lets make fun of people that are informed on local news. good one kid.

No, let the adults talk while you struggle with puberty kid. You should just stop posting and talk to a doctor about your rectal fissures, until then, take your angst out elsewhere.

i feel more safe walking by myself through anywhere in salt lake than almost any other large city i've been to.

This gay little argument didn't involve you bitch, so let it die. Damn your so hard "Murda" callin people douchebags n shit.

in fact...if you manage to get out here within a month and are a decently rad person, we might even have an opening in our house. 13th east, right by the U...the raddest porch on this earth...how can you resist?

wow. one kid asks about slc & all of the other fight about it. im sure espong would know. he does live there a lot of the his life.. not talkin shit but i know he knows what he's talking about. I've lived there too & there was like one shooting in trolly square but thats it. slc is all mormon's, down town isn't bad gangs... just mormon gangs.

sugar house or the aves. have good places to live & there not too spendy
