SLC RAIL JAM! - CASH PURSE - New Years Competition, Downtown SLC

Hey Everyone,

The city of Salt Lake is having a three-day Rail Jam competition for a New Years celebration at the Gallivan Center in downtown SLC. Your friends at the Campus Rail Jam Tour have been asked to plan and build the contest, and we'd be stoked to have you come out and shred. We've got a brand-new setup built by the boys at KAB rails. This comp is open to both SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS.

To ride in the comp you need to apply online just like any of our other events. You will also need to purchase insurance coverage for the event, which is built into the $25 entry fee! You can apply here: www.galvanicdesign.com/apply

The event will be spread out over a three-day period, and should be a super laid-back and fun chance to shred with your friends. Check the picture below to get a peek at our new setup. Our friends at Yobeat also posted a little video of our least event in Denver, take a look: www.yobeat.com/2009/11/21/magic-mondays-video-from-the-backyard-bang-denver/

There will be a cash prize along with product and high-fives. Come out to make some loot or just slide some metal.

yea dude last year i saw kids throw down and straight slides made finals, I drove like 5 hours from SLC to the Boise stop to have that happen it was super weak I had footage of the judges not even looking at 2 of my hardest tricks and tried to polietly reason with them to simpy watch the shots they clearly missed and they told me to fuck off , could be such a cool event but its for sure catered to snowboarding. Hopefully someone makes bank in SLC!

Sick... I love when the event come to Oregon State. Always a great time. Each year the setup is more gnalry then the last.

seriously, will there be beer there? can you bring your own in?

this would be important info to me and my friends and i'm sure we are not the only 21+ people who would be curious about this.

If they don't, I don't get why you couldn't just just put some shit in a bottle with gatorade or whatev and go check out the gnar. Regardless it's gonna be a rad event. And for 3 days.

go to eveslc.com for more details on the whole NYE celebration.
i have the flyer and it doesnt say anything about beer. it does say that the rail jam will be at like 200s and state. and theres plenty of bars around there. id say just hit the bars for awhile before, then get some tall boys and brown bag it. thats my plan.

So I hit this set up in Madison and it was a super fun night, but I will say that I think the set up is a little more of a snowboarder set up... I almost never say that, I think that pretty much anything a boarder can hit a skier can hit it too and vice versa. But, the rainbow is hard to get on as a skier and the DFD is super burly, really steep kinks and you really get booted on the second kink... gotta really suck it up. Never saw a skier grease the DFD super clean. That being said I would still do the event again in a heartbeat... and the guys from galvanic designs were pretty rad and I didn't mind going out of my way to help them set it up.
