SLC bans mini ramps

On August 7th, 2008 the Salt Lake Valley Health Department passed a new ordinance which prohibits the use of any skate ramps on a residential property. The reasoning they have used to issue this ordinance is based on "Noise Pollution".

The ordinance can be found on the SLVHD website. It is Regulation # 21, and reads as follows...

4.5.21. Sporting Ramps. No person shall build or use nor shal any person cause, allow, or permit anyone to build or allow anyone to use any skateboard, roller blade, bicycle, or snowboard ramp or half-pipe or similar configuration within 800 feet of a dwelling, except within facilities that have been designated for such use by government entity.

 
Sounds like a sneeky way to force people to use pay skate parks in the area.

Pennsylvania is a way tight ass state and we used to build ramps all the time when we were young.

dude... you fucking snowblade... and Alex def. had more than 5 days, i dont even know the kid but i know that i saw him up at brighton A TON.. i rode there well over 100 days this past season and he was def. around for a lot of those days.. so gaper? i think not. you just hate on utah cause you know that we have the best snow on earth with some of the nicest mountains in north america... sorry that we're living a dream while you prance around on your little fag sticks...

Snowblades are played on gaper day, everyone has those, only a select few can rock 120 rossi cuts from 2001.

I dont need to read your posts complaining about how gay utah is even if you are from the east. Just accept the fact that our skiing is most likely going to be way more epic than yours! haha
 
Fail. I took them pictures for fun and that kids doesn't even blade he was just messing around. Nice try though, should have went with the fat jokes instead, they tend to work better.

What is the most any other state has, like 3%? 40% is far, far, far greater than any other state. When they run your state government and run your local city and run your local police force then they run your way of life no matter what you say. There is only one way out.

and about the mini ramps, thats just a rediculous reason to ban them. think about the noise a skateboard makes on a wooden pipe compared to a truck, motorcycle, or lawnmower. hypocrites
 
it calls them "sporting ramps" and mentions snowboarding.. even though it doesn't mention skiing i would hate to get a ticket for using a drop in ramp or some shit.. hope it doesn't go that far..
