SLC Advice...

Ok quick one...

Heading in to SLC next Thursday night.... Have a place to stay in Park City from the Saturday after that, so for Thurs / Fri night im looking to book a hotel in SLC (Super 8, ramada... etc etc...) that will allow us to be able to drive (will have a rental car) to a ski hill and back pretty easy in the day (im thinking maybe Brighton? because Park City parking might be fucked up for Sundance... but, let me know...) and be relatively close to some fun / action at night... like Taxi ride away... I do not know SLC at all... so where's a good place to party on that Fri night?

What I want to know then is where is best to stay - South on 215 (for access to Brighton etc) or Central on 80.... im erring towards south - is it a short / easy drive from say midvale area up the Big C Wood to Brighton / soli etc? But on the Sat - we'll have to drive up to PC anyway....

the canyon inn right at the mouth of big cottonwood is showing a movie called "GNAR" check out unofficialsnowbird.com for details looks pretty funny and theyre offering drink specials so thatd be something for you to do, but its tomorrow not friday
 
I'd stay downtown at a coutyard or something. I honestly don't find Brighton that great, had a pass there and didnt like it that much. If it doesnt snow on friday I'd just go to PC or Canyons. Alta / Bird is way skiied out and isnt the best right now. The crowds wont be that bad in park city I'll be up at the canyons. As long as you're there before 11am parking isnt that much of an issue but it never gets too bad at the canyons. Might want to get to PC a little earlier.

At night being in downtown Salt Lake puts you close to a ton of bars. Cheers, Dick and Dixies, Johnny's on 2nd, and a couple others can be fun.

Im not too bothered about the Fri Shredding, because im with a buddy who hasn't really ridden before, so he's off for a snowboard lesson or some shit, and i'll just lap / cruise Brighton or Soli... we're staying down in Midvale that night anyway, Super 8 all the way.... then Sat we'll probably head up to PC then if the skiing parking isn't too bad (Can someone tell me the best lot to park in and i'll go straight there).

Fri night, we'll prob hop in a taxi to down town or something and rage like mutha fuckers.... balling all the way as only i know how obviously...

 
Snowboarding?
Mind you - the guy's a total noob, so even i could teach him how to snowboard and im shit at it!
Will do.... he's just gonna get a lesson for half day or something... i'll be with him so will tell him when he's booking it.... then, im off for a shred.... will meet up with him for the avo then go fuck him up.. haha.
will be there next friday...
