is is really that good or just a status symbol like the ipod and logo tees. jus asking but my ear buds seem to work fine and they only cost 10 bucks..............

some like the sk pros actually sound pretty good. but i havent paid over 40$ for a pair (i have 5), but theyre cheap, have a legit warranty, and are pretty good for the price.

well in utah and at many ski events they are easy to come by for cheap or free, so that's a plus, and they are light (icons) and bump pretty well for the price. and they come in ballin shiny colors and shit.

there's alot of hate on SK for being an overpriced, sort of shitty product and an overall bad company to deal with. i used to love mine but one day i took them off my head at the slightest angle and the cheap plastic broke. now i'm beginning to believe...

i haven't had any bad experiences with the company and the sound quality was good. but yeah, they might just be a bit overpriced. it's whatever, though....who cares? wear whatever you think looks and feels good.

they responded to my emails within a day...

ive warranteed 3 pairs of headphones to them so far... there stuff isnt amazing quality but there warranty is amazing..

They're based outta Park City and are stoked on skiing/snowboarding etc. They're free at soooo many events, it's ill. They support our sport, might as well support them right? If they break, get a new pair. lifetime warranty is ill.

I thought the original hype was because they were really cheap and they looked a whole lot better than any other headphones at the time. I don't really know if they're still cheap now but that's what i thought the original hype was about.

The lifetime warranty is why I still have a pair. Other than that....pretty crappy quality.

Why compare Skullcandy to an Ipod....Ipod's are fantastic players, I've had my Nano for 4 years.

He compared them to iPods because iPods don't actually have the greatest sound. Audiophiles tend to steer away from iPods for a variety of reason (No FLAC support, bad sound processing, etc...). I'm not trying to take anything away from iPods, because the hardware/software interface is the simplest and most complete I've seen, but if you are going 100% for quality, there are better ones out there.

Oh I see what you mean. I don't know, I always loved how all of mine have sounded for such a small player. That never bothered me, I always go for usability more than anything.
