Skis

depends on what skis u ahve to because they have certain spots to mount them at acording 2 how the ski is made, so what skis do u ahev and what do u want to do(park, allmnt, or back country)

whats up now bitch

be careful with center mounting...MOST skiers hate it...if the ski is not a true twin you may screw up the flex and the skis will not work as designed (which is what you paid for)...

if your skis are longer than 175 avoid center mounting - the increased tail length WILL greatly increase the chances of you ripping apart your ACL...this is a fact and is important to note

a few CMs foward of refernce is always good on a pair of park skis....I personally ride +3.5 on my 181 PEs and +2.5 on my ak maidens...

Wow wayne^ I never thought about the increased tail length and acl injuries but on the surface it does make sense to me. More tail=more torque at the heel=acl injury.

^ its called the phantom foot....

tail length

wieght to the back

hands down and behind your hips

attempts to recover

all contribute to a bad winter....

stay down

stay foward

keep your hands up

only try to recover if you need to avoid hitting something/someone

I really never fight it. If I'm falling I fall, I have no shame about falling.

It could even happen in a bad switch landing though, that's what I was envisioning when I read your post.

Kinda scares me because my skis are true center.

^just posting some wisdom for the groms who have yet to experience the fun of knee surgery

landing switch is generally easier on the body, but everyone has their huge air to flat story...

one HUGE misunderstanding with park skoiers is that higher din settings will help keep your skis on better....when people peg their din settings all the way the bindings lose their ability to absorb shock and releases more more comeon....plus you can put your PCL is huge jeopardy by pegging your foward pressure....my mistake two years ago

I would suggest a mounting position 2 cm back from the "true" centre of your ski. If you dont think that would work for you, ask any of the fine ski technicians at your local shop. They would be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns for you, that you may otherwise voice on newschoolers, and perhaps get bad results. That is all.

If it helps, most of my ski crew and I installed our bindings as follows...........

'06 179 Fuji +6

'06 179 P.E. +5.5

'06 179 Vicious +4

'06 189 Made'N AK +3 (for switch pow landings)

These seem to work really well for the skis for us.

According to a K2 test roughly 6 weeks back, The Vicious didn't ski as well with tons of extra tail. Most liked it at +3.

My $.02. Hope it helps.........

"center" i would say...its not "true center" but its damn close. just like a difference of like 4cm...aka progressive stance...pretty good but depends on the ski make...i have never ridden fugi's so i dont know what they are like
