is line's way of measuring going around the curves of the tips on the base from tip to tail or going straight w/ a ruler from the tip to the tail? and when you say armada measures surface area... does that mean it's the contact length of the base to the snow?

Every company seems to measure a little differently. I know K2 measures from the front tip to the end of the running area, but I don't know much about other companies.

so that would mean that the back tip of the ski is not measured, did I get that right?

i have 167 lines and 159 k2's, there both around the same size just the line is a tad bigger

You got it exactly right. I think they all run 3-4 cm longer than advertised.

so k2 runs a bit longer in size, and line runs a bit shorter? how many cms shorter is line?
