Skis similar to troublemakers?

I love my troublemakers, really fun ski in the park and all over the mountain with lots of pop. Unfortunately, as with many other people, I've torn out large amounts of the edges of both skis after just one season. As much as I love the ski I can't afford to replace it every year so.... whats most LIKE the troublemakers?

the mik d pros are a lot like the trouble maker because mikael based the design on it because he designed the tm, the only difference is that the mik d pros are five million times stronger and poppier

a slightly wider, just as light, more durrable tm... i think we would be in heaven

Here's something I've been wondering. I have the original TMs, and a friend of mine has the second-year's model (same graphic, different topsheet.) Dynastar's new topsheet is much softer than there old one, and it is the only difference in the skis. My friend has taken a few large gouges out of his skis while I have taken none. Am I just lucky, or is this the result of an inferior topsheet?

Also, people complain about the TMs losing life after a season. Mine are on their third year and still feel fine. Could this also be a result of the topsheet?

Not this seasons scratches, they're wider, stiffer and heavier. Had tm's last season, new scratches this. Very different. 02-05 scratches yes.

Just get whatever you can get cheapest I'd say. Befriend someone who owns a shop or is sponsored to get you cheap stuff!

yes the new stl's are stiffer and a lot better than the previous model. and to to dumbass that said crichton pro models, they aould still have the same durability and edge problems dumbass

I've just gone from tm's to new pe's. I loved my tm's... the pe's are quite a bit different but feel really good too. Mine were the original version and my topsheets held up good, they definitely lost their feel over the time though.

thats what stls are. just a little less poppy and quick.

thats what i switched to after my tms blew up. 06s though

exactly. such a fun ski. wish i was hooked up by dynastar and got a bunch for free

i'd say the new scratches or ar5's flex similarly to tm's, but they both have vertically laminated cores, so they wont have the same spring characteristics as the tm's horizontal core

The old scratches are about as soft as the TMs, but not nearly as much life. I've heard the AR5s are stiffer. Do they have a lot of pop?
