The old caylors are pretty dead, but have loved the way they rode. The ski is 6 years old now. currently riding the 191 at -2.5 from center. ON3Ps unable to produce them any more and am looking for a replacement. something full rocker and FAT. I want something wide, stable, and easily turnable in tight places and trees. i plan to use these almost everyday, except for when we havent gotten snow in a week.

-so far Moments chipotle bannanas have caught my eye. Seems like a harder charging caylor. Anybody have any feedback on the banannas? ive search barred and found very little. It appears that i would like them but im not about to drop 800 on a ski that not many have ridden.

-or maybe moment ghost train?

-4frnt devastator? seems like everyone loves them.

-Armada JJ or magic J

any other options that come to mind? help a homie out

Mostly looking for insider comments about the bannanas if anyones ridden them.

Growing up skiing Pebble Cr. you have to be crazy

Facts.

When I was younger I rode 188, 191s, but one day realized that having a ski around 175-180 was much more enjoyable haha

I can relate. Rode numerous long skis for many seasons but realized the same thing, much more enjoyable with something a little shorter.

ugh. menopause sounds terrible

But we have to remember the ski type. A full

rocker ski / something with lots of rocker... ski way shorter. with the caylors close to center and not much effective edge, they’re literally the easiest ski in my quiver to ski on, hence that’s the reason I spend most of my time on them.

NOW, a ski like the billy goat, a 189 stiff directional ski mounted way far back... yes those things kick my butt and only come out on the right occasions.

The on3p Cease & Desist are pretty fat and have a pretty good rocker. Some others are the Armada ARGs which have a large powder rocker and are pretty wide too. Not much tail but the DPS powderworks lotus is a big ski and has a sizable front rocker.

What about the ON3P Jeffrey 116? Isn’t that the ski that replaced the Caylor in the lineup? Plus they’re on sale right now. I’m also on 191 Caylors, but will move to Jeffreys when its time.

IMO sort of the obvious choice, my bias aside. What people sort of forget is that the Caylor and Jeffrey 116 are just the same ski platform responding to ups and downs in ski preference. It isn't like we designed the Jeffrey 116 from scratch. It's just the flow of the same freestyle jib platform from Caylor to Jeffrey114/122 to Jeffrey 116. It's all the same ski, just tweaked and updated overtime.

You could basically put every Jeffrey, Jeronimo, Caylor, Kartel, Jessie, and Charlie Murphy and make it one platform that has various snow types and has ebbed and flowed over years.

J116 vs Caylor - Radius is a bit tighter (25.8 vs 27.0), but still a biradius unlike on the Jeffrey 108 (which is a hybrid, so elliptical front radius). Caylor had a touch more rocker, bit more weight/stiffness, and 120 vs 116 but yeah, they are close.

For what it is worth, on custom we can increase or decrease rocker/camber if you wanted something with a bit more rocker.
