Skis similar to 20/21 candide 2.0s?

Sub'd for responses... I'm looking for the same thing.

Those CT 2.0's were/are so much fun. The Mana 2.0's they replaced them with were way stiffer and didn't seem as playful.

Thinking these options might be close, but haven't seen any of them in person:

i feel like the arv 106's could be nice but supposedly the new ones are really stiff so not sure if i could use them for park.

read too many things about durability tho, might try some poachers

I get that, but that's what made the candide 2's so fun. It's hard to have a super durable and flexible fun ski at the same time. Poachers are solid, won't be as playful. Opposite for reckoner too, just depends on how you ski and what you want.

i dont recall everybody saying they delamed their candides in 4 days like they did with the reckoners

Blackops 98 would be a similar shaped ski that has the rubber damping tip/tail and metal underfoot(1 sheet Vs 2 on the 21 CT 2.0) so it’s a bit lighter but solid feel. Haven’t heard of any 21 Fisher built skis with any issues as they were super overbuilt that year. Much lighter again in the 22 and 23(Mana 2) Atomic built ones.

Is the blackops metal a binding plate or is it on the bottom of the core like the CT?

The CT 2s didn't delaminate they snapped right behind the heel of the binding.

Blackops 98 just has the single binding retention plate Vs the 21 CT 1.0 or 2.0 that have an upper Binding retention sheet AND the sheet above the base underfoot to prevent rail damage. Any metal sheet will improve torsional rigidity so it still would help beef up the Blackops 98.
