Hey, i am just really getting into the new school skiing scene and i'm looking for a good way to train in the offseanson (besides tramps and boards). I have seen those skis on wheels that cross country guys use in the summer and was just wondering if anyone has used them for rails and stuff in the summer? And if so where they got them and how much..? THanks

I think that rollerblading would probably be the closest to skiing, because you can to rails and go in parks and crap. Or get an old pair of skis and screw some wheels on, that would be wicked mint.

Put some skateboard trucks on the bottom of the skis

It probably wouldent work to well, but it would be funny stuff. Just get inline skates but tramps are the best off-season tool.

no - water ramps are the best off-season tool... hehehe

Yes water ramps kick ass, we are building one here in ohio in about month its going to be awsome everyone should come on down

I like skiing

i dont think skateboard trucks would work that well, maybe if u got two pairs off roller blades and put one frame on each end of the ski, it would be heavey but could work, i may take this project on myself

Ok, I was looking into this alot last year, pretty much what I found was that if you want to learn tricks just get skates, roller skis won't help you at all. But, if you want the ski equivilent of a Mountain Board check out the crosskate (http://www.crosskate.com/) it's made for use of mtn. bike trails and has brakes and it can carve and all, looks really sick, only really expensive.

I have ridden some long boards with skis on to get speed to get onto skateboard rails. Its kind of hard to jump of the board though.

i have a pair of Rollerblade Coyote's...the offroad rollerblades. They are heavy as shit, ungodly ugly, but the most fun you can have on dirt next to DH biking...

those big ass rollerblades are damn expensive. Why don't you just get some aggressive rollerblades? those help a ton with balance on rails, they are fun in the parks too.

I also have a pair of Coyote's, but nothing beats skiing down the stairs to your living room with a naked chick on your shoulders, who is holding the funnel full of Jack that you're slamming!

aggressive skating actually does help.....especialy rails, u can practice switch ups and do it anywhere in the summer...if i had money Id buy some new ones, but i need money for skis

That was just so fresh, how you took it out of context like that...Do u have any Titanic Jokes for me?

aggressive skates all the way, man. the razor elliott pro 2 models look sick. i'll just have to do with my current elliott pro model from last year. have to save up for a Rossi Scratch.

I have a house up at Lake George NY, in the bay I live on me and some friends each year float ramps out and anchor them for a day, then we strap on old pairs of skis, or really light water skis and just huck it off these home made ramps and rails. Its fun, we use my boat and tow in, to make it more like skiing we let go of the tow rope and let it fly. I brought out poles once...it looked REALLY stupid, but added that real skiing effect. If you're gonna be up there or live there, let me know we can get together this summer!

Seth:'That's a weird looking rail, I'll give you a buck if you can slide it!'

Me:'Thats not a rail, thats a guys leg!'

Seth:'*pause*Okay, two dollars!'

hey fags. i've been thinking about this idea for the past few days.. it's awsome. fuck inline if this works. i'm gonna build my own pair or roller skis, about 2 and a half feet long, either made out of strong ass wood or steel. i'm going to use some old rollerblading wheels and barings, old skiboard bindings, and maybe i'll add a flat peice of pvc on the bottem for a grindplate. if this works out..

well since u called everyone fags that doesnt sound real cool at all.
