1080s are always the best. my three year old ones still kick ass and this year they made the design even better. they are the best all mountain and they dont have a delam problem. i think the scratches might hold there own too. but unless armadas are all that everyone is hyping them up to be (which is a whole fucking lot) im sticking with salomon

 
not as an insult, but few people on here have ridden the PEs, and even fewer if any have ridden Armadas, so how can we name them ski of the year without ever even touching a pair or hearing no biased reviews

wouldnt the question matter on what kinda skis ur lookin for? but i think scratches will b pretty good. lines are always a great ski, but theyre not the best. i dont know anything about armada tho so..

everyone is forgetting about dynastar, i mean they might not be the most performing ski for 2003, but it seems like you can always relay on the concepts from what i hear... anyone agree

unfourtunatly for dynastar they only come in 165 which is too short and 180...which is too long... they should make some other sizes

People at the ski shop i went to said the PE are the best ski this year and they didnt even sell K2 skis. So i thought that was pretty funny.

 
I'm only basing this comment on the topic. who can u rate the skis of this year when 98% of the public as only skiied on max four different pairs? personally I've tried a bunch but no armada, no 4frnt, no new atomics, no fujatives, not all of the lines, no little big fat. the rest I've tried. I woudln't even start to rate the ski of the year! hardly fair for all those companies that I aint skied on. it would just be my preference thus far which is expression, PE, v-pro in that order

The atomics will kill it as soon as they lose the binding plate. As for the schmidt pro model, well, that's really a stormrider DP with a different topsheet, made up by the company that imports them to the US. They had the topsheet specially made for a few hundred pairs, and shipped the skis from france to the US without Stockli's knowledge. Stockli ain't too happy bout that ski...

The pimp edition is the first model I've recieved without the binding plate, it also doen't have the texalium topsheet. between those two adjustments it translates into a ski that is 20% softer than the origonal Sugar but the Pimp Edition in a 193 (only size that will be available) with bindings is about 1.5-2 lbs lighter than the old 183's w/ Bindings.

^ yeah no shit, the difference is these are real fat (99mm under foot) and better yet....they're not lines! No offence to line skis, they're a good 'park' ski.

 
i think the lines r gonna do pretty good and with all the hype on armada i think they r gonna do really good... and of course K2 and rossi and salomon arent gonna be too bad either

Man the 1080s are the excact same ski as last years and the scratch will always dominate all except for maybe the 4FRNT cause i got a friend whos on the team but the Armadas i rode at hood and i didnt quit like them cause they feel like plastic pure park adn rail skis

you wish you had the steeze like me
