seems like all the prices are going up, but some companies like 4frnt and armada which have good designs are more expensive, i dont mind that but considering how the tm is 650 on getboards and the pro models are another 75-100 bucks more, skiing is really starting to get expensive

Yeah, a 'cheap' ski is now 600 bucks Canadian. That's alot of money!

It's easy to spend 1500 dollars on a ski set-up with bindings and boots. Then to outfit yourself in a jacket and pants, it's another 500 or 600 bucks. Plus ski passes for $300-1000. Gas to go places; $500 for the year. Food; $200. Hopefuly you know people who live around your mountain, because hotels are ridiculous.

So we're talking around $3000 to support a year of skiing. UGLY!

I dunno, my scratch bc cost me $400 canadian, my bindings cost me $150, and my whistler pass is $359. I'm not doing too bad. Only suckers pay full price for stuff.

O yea i got my skis for FREE and i still rent my boots and have hand me down pants! I only payed for my jacket, like $80. Cash aint no thang

yeah u can get deals if u look, get last years boot or bindings and stuff thats what i do, i would never pay full price

yea, tru. skiing is getting alot more expensive but thats the price to pay wen a sport starts going mainstream. but always shop around for the best price, dont settle for one shop

my skis were $180. theres other ways to get a ski besides paying retail you know. like get off your ass, make friends, and get connections.

You can always find a deal. Just look for used stuff or buy last years models or something. All my ski gear if I bought it brand new and right when it came out comes to about 3600 bucks (before tax) canadian, and I think I've spent around 2200-2400 after tax. This of course has been over 3 years or so.

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day

actually, skis are overall a lot cheaper than they were five years ago. paying $575 for the most pricey twin-tip is about what you used to expect to pay for a decent pair of skis. $350 for some sick k2s, thats a deal. and trouble makers are only $459 on getboards not 650 unless your a canuck

 
ya it's definatly a pricey sport taht's for sure, but maybe you just need to make some sacrifices or get a job at a shop or even a hill, or go to school and become someting sucessful so you can feed your habit

my towns local alpine and freestyle teams put on this huge ski swap, and all the shops bring in the gear from last year and sell it for cheep. its awsome i bout a pair of bran new pow airs for 90$

umm hasn't skiing always been expensive? or have you people finally left your parents house and have to work for your gear. also prices are higher because of something called inflation and right now you have all these rich kids that want into the new movement and are willing to pay whatever they guy at the ski shop tells them is a 'good deal'.

i got 04 1080s with s912 binding for 400, before that i got free public enemies, before those free enemies... all because i bought some shitty nordicas, crushed the tip by accident(hit a tree) and sent them back, used the money to get the enemies which delamed, sent them back, used the money to get the public enemies, im selling those for 300 with binding if anyone wants them also. So the moral here is to send your skis back if they have anything wrong with them at the end of the season

There's always like one or two weeks at the end of every season where the prices drop a shitload because they announce the stuff for next year and that's where I always find the best deals, and you get to ride them at least once before summer usually!

whoa, i just got back from the ski shop in town and they have like all the new shit and the guy there said he may be able to hook me up with some 4frnts with s912 ti bindings for the season but if not then definetely the armadas with the same bindings!

plus he gave me a 50% discount on bindings for my scratches and they have a million public enemys with s810 bidings I think for like 250 or 300 but that isn't just for me...

Just people getting greedy, kind of like college with 20 administrative positions that do nothing except get paid more than any faculty member. Rising prices, and as long as people keep buying them, the prices will stay that way.
