Skis for Windells!

I recently booked a trip with my buddy for Windells over this summer! I figured why not ask on your opinions on what skis to look at purchasing before I go out to camp. I havent really been looking much this year at skis, I dont really know much about to 2010 models of most brands. My Moment Tahoes broke; the bindings keep coming out of the ski, there already pluged, and there pretty much ruined. My older Line Chronics have the whole tip on one ski coming apart.

I've been looking at two year old Lib Techs at a shop closer to my house, for around $400. Ive been thinking about Line afterbangs, or something cheaper just for now and maybe a little next season. I also have a Rossignal card, but im not to sure when the skis ship out for 2011. So im not to sure what skis to look at or purchase. I liked this past years K2 Extremes, and the Dumonts, but those are the ones I've rode. Im looking to spend up to $450. Any input would help, and I got plenty of time to order so suggestions anyone?

+Karma & Thanks!

i wouldnt recommend the dumonts, since in windells your going to hit alot of rails, and the edges of salomon skis are known to not last very long. extremes are a solid stiff ski, which is good at allmountain, but handles the park very well. i guess the symmetrical afterbang would be a good option if you jib alot.it all depends on what you want to do most with the ski.
skis i would recommend you are:
armada- ar6 (maybe alphas if you got more $)atomic- punxon3p- blue steelemoment- jib (too pricy for you i guess)
if you manage, you might get your hands on some chronics or anthems- they wont be produced next year, but are some really dope skis.

ya just take a look into those skis.

Try and find the cheapest skis that fit your needs...you'll probably end up only using them for Windells cause they heat of the rails is tough on skis and you'll be trying lots of new stuff, so you'll probably trash them really quick.

I would buy the cheapest ski because you will be demoing tons of skis when your there.

I would recomend

Any of the Boone line which are 200 dollers off of their site right now.
Rossignol s4
Armada ar6
Line afterbangs
K2 extremes

I own a pair of Boone magic sticks myself and I love them!

liberty lte or if you can find them the phil larose promodel. all the other things said are great options too

if i went to windells.....

i would probably want

anthems

or invaders

idk why seems like a good idea unless youd be hitting 50+ footers there, and i am ignorant on what kids are hitting there

t-halls or ar6's would be fun too

Okay I am sorta going to jump in here, I just got a pair of alpha 2s to replace my 08 salomon thrusters. I am debating what skis to take because I really don't want to thrash my alphas. Anyone have input?

i would actually wait till next year to get your new skis because:

1) you can save more money to buy sick cheap shit at staff sale.

2)you can demo all next years stuff, and then pick based on the one you liked the performance of the best. BUT you can always JUST demo the afterbangs all week for example if that is the ski you are liking.

3) you can get a pair of this years skis way cheaper next year.

4) if you demo skis everyday, you might win a FREE pair at the end of the session (that is what they do.

5) Over the summer you can save up more money to buy ANY ski, plus you will have skied them, and will know which one you like the best

all in all i dont think it hurts at all to wait, I mean my coach adam delorme last year sold me his old fatypus g-butters for 20 bucks ( they werent even beat to shit) just because he got new ones. At staff sale the pros also sell skis super cheap and people are super chill.

Sparknotes: Wait and demo skis at windells, no bad will come from it.

Take your alphas. They will be fine and even if they do break when you are their you can just demo a ski for the rest of the time you are there. Then you have all summer for armada to warrenty them.

So maybe buy a used pair or even a pair on sale, thrash them and get better on them, demo a couple pars out there. And when the pros have there sales possibly look at grate deals. Even if I dont come back with a new pair Ill save some money and can always get 2011 skis. I just dont want to fly outhere with two broken skis, but I dont want to get there without any skis! Thanks so much + karma

The one pair I broke are actually Moments, but there a couple years old and I would imagine them being a whole lot better now, and yes there pricey but worth it.

I don't know for sure but I heard the adterbangs aren't that great. I heard they fall apart easily and stuff. Again I've only heard this
