Skis for next season

im lookin for a ski that i get cheap now for next season. i already got some lizzies but im starting to consider other skis. they were a good deal and im not worried about reselling them.

anyways, right now im 5'4" 110lbs, but im planning on growing over the summer so thats why im looking at some larger skis. i live in utah, i ski alta/bird. ill be skiing everything pretty much but i plan on skiing more backcountry and pow than groomers and park maybe like 60/40. i want a good width so that its still good switch in pow but i dont want to completely float ( i like face shots). this season i skied a 175 vct and i want a ski thats a little bit more playful and softer than that. heres what ive been looking at so far. feel free to add.

elizabeths

jp vs. julien 178

seths 179

madens 179

big trouble 176

seths and madens will probly be a little stiffer and better for carving and charging. jj's when i tried them were super fun in the pow, i loved them for messing around but i found they werent great at holding an edge. id go with jjs

I love my madens they obviously are good in big mountain and pow, but I can still butter them and stuff and I am about your size.

Where do you plan on mounting this ski you get? If it's a standard mount (NOWHERE near center), a 169 seth would be good for you. However if you're going near center, a 179 seth would be perfect. Would float just fine, and it's still really nimble. Just a tad softer than a VCT too.

If you want softer, do NOT go for the Big Trouble. Much stiffer then the options. But it's still an awesome ski that I'd recommend as an everyday ski for you.

yeah im not planning on mounting standard, ill probably go a few back from center depending on the ski

id keep the lizzies man there 172 so thats not bad...unless u grow more then 2 inches...ok well out of the list i can tall u the j vs. j are super fun soft light and those are prob the best thing on ur list

this is way to speculative. you should really try the lizzies, they slay it so hard. im 5'9" 135 and they worked fine for me. peace

hmm im looking for something soft and playful that i can just jib around on in the pow. im not much of a hardcore charger so that would probably count the FR and BT out.

yeah im still considering my lizzies, ill probably end up keeping them but i still want to know what the flex is like on seths and how well they perform switch in the powder

seths' progressional sidecut shape aren't ideal for switch pow but they are ok. they are softish and fun to play on but can charge as well.

also i dont want to float too much in the pow so i can still get face shots. would any of these skis give me a little too much float? lizzies? madens?
