Skis for my girl

Im looking to help my girlfriend pick out a pair of skis for this coming season. shes just a beginner skier so its gotta be an easy twin tip to learn on. shes about 5'10" nd this coming season will be the first year of her having her own skis. nd nothing new like an 07 or 08 model would be best till she gets better. thanx

i know salomon and k2 have decent women-specific skis but roxy is probably best because its only womens skis. and they sponsor sarah burke. and shes hot.

As said, Salomon and K2 got some good skis, but in addition to that you have some Völkl skis that are pretty decent for girls.

Is she athletic or eager to learn or move up? East coast ? West coast - need fatter skis?

Armada make the Cantika - womens cap ski for all mtn park & pipe...or their ARW or their fatter ARVw . The Cantika is the economical choice. All the skis are great. These boards go anywhere do anything...Last years are good etc....

Already mentioned is ROXY and they have a number of choices. new stuff coming September 2009, so the website is poor now.... Pro Broomsticks & others . Volkl has about 5 twintip skis for women....and you can alaways find a Rossi etc...other have been mentioedhttp://www.voelkl.com/index.cfm/en/75/Freeski-Telemark . Salomons have been found to be light and soft...some say they don't ake abuse well, Temptress, Maitai others - have some chatter on ice .

so if she does sports & stuff you gotta alotta choices, but u gotta consider her weight & size also. And if u ski hardpack or ice coast u for sure want a ski that can be tuned and can hold out on the hardpack. Something that will not bee too wussy and wash out. She needs something to keep her confidence ...

Shes kinda atheltic, shes tall and skinny. we live on the east coast so something thats gona be able to hold on ice and hard packed. she is eager to learn but shes like nervous about how well shes gona do.

evogear has girl skis from $30 and bindings from $80 or something. theyre not twin tips but she doesnt need those right now either

next year's K2 misdemeanors would be the jam. killer graphics and a dope all around ski. also, the Line celebs for next winter are dope. all of the girls who skied it during the test this past winter absolutely raved about it.

they dont come in 185.well technically they do come in 184 because K2 sucks at measuring but still not a 185.
but who gives a fuck. get her some 189 bents!!!

When u go to the ski sales over the summer , get her an intermediate not a beginner ski. She needs the confidence to hold up on hard pack & ice. It doesn't matter whether u get twin tips or not for the first while or year ....they are just cooler look better. Spend the bigger money on boots so she can stay out all day.

sample pricing...... http://www.untracked.com/b104.html remaining roxy at big al's .......

http://www.untracked.com/b9pg2.html ROSSI's page down to women's

u can just search out the K2's and the volkl's etc.....I was never big on K2's for hardpack compared to say volkls or others....

as said above Roxy ski's would be good to start out on. right now they wouldn't be expensive, nice designs, and most of them come with the bindings instead of separately.

its true. my sister rides roxy skis. i had one pair when i was 12 and ruined them beyond recognition however.....

Thanks every1 for the help!! im probably gona go with one of the roxy skis for her to start out on. i cant wait for next season, it feels so far away.

Hey if your girl is a beginner I wouldn't buy her Armada ARVw's. They

are awesome but they require the skier to be experienced. However, my advice is for you

to buy either the Scratch BC or any pair from Roxy which are easy to learn on.

She's 155cm so pretty small. I think you should buy the Roxy "Shazam" 2009 150cm. 150 is actually the smallest you will find for women and -5cm is ok. Shazam are made for beginners so I guess you found your skis! =)
