so i was thinking about revamping my setup this winter and making a bigger longer box would dry erase board work to slide on top of. its slippery cheap and white what else do u want

thoughts???

how would you get one long piece tho? unless its the actual board that goes on the wall, which still would be too short, you wont be able to have a clean setup...other than that, it sounds like a pretty good idea

the ones like at school are 8-10 ft long thats all i need and if i wanted it narrower i could just cut it down with like a band saw or a skill saw

I wouldn't do it. I had to take apart a bunch of dry erase boards in my job this summer and I dont think it will take the abuse your skis will give to it. I think your going to catch an edge every single time. They aren't that durable and will prob deteriorate from water. Search how to build a box, or something along those lines. I have a thread in there with a bunch of info. A bunch of pvc pipes works well and its very cheap.

if you plan on having it more than 6 in off the ground, you'll need speed and you'll land like halfway down it...8 ft isnt very long at all...and yes, it probably will break under weight, although the wall boards seem big, so maybe if you put wood under it to reenforce it...idk. how would you go about getting it tho, stealing from a school would be tough

if you can get ur hands on some puckboard, that works. my friend's dad worked on a new hockey rink, so now my friend has a whole ton of that stuff. He's planning to make a 16 ft rainbow, 4 foot rise with it, just trying to figure out end heights and stuff now.

the only problem is that the school size whiteboards can be hella expensive

my adhd math teacher was talking about how he wanted a new one but a like 6 by 20 foot one is 5000 bucks but thats with a slider with another 6 by 10 foot one on it so idk ha

ya its a good idea but i thought u meant having a dry erase board topsheet which would also be sweet.

all that shit is is fiberboard. my theory is that you will scrape off the white shit off the top and then it will be nothing but wood, and it wont slide
