Skirting on rails

i think you mean panels... you can just dont fall and jam your leg into one of the supports because that could be catastrophic

^ That happend to me also but on an s-rail. The metal skirt busted in one place and my ski caught in it. Yeah I think I'd still hit it.

well lots of people call it skirtin too.

its deff safer for your body and gear if thers skirting, but i can hit it without. urban handrails dont have skirting

a lot of breckenridge's rails have no skirting, but they have styrofoam bumpers as padding on the vertical supports

if anyone wants to know what no skirting does when u fall, find the video of some kid falling at breck on a downrail.

this is what can happen on rails without skirting:

wats skirting? like the wood inbetween the poles

what does it do?

my ski got stuck in it once and it took forever to pull it out

that vid was so sick..that guy completely killed that park. shouldnt of done so many lame truckdrivers tho..or spin atleast with em

insurance companies would like to see rails with some kind of skirting because the chance of someone falling and hurting themselves on the posts are very high. So mountains with skirting have a lower count of accidents therefore having to pay less for insurance.
