I have a thread similar in ski grabber, so my question is where to ski this Jan. I was thinking about Smuggs,Sugarbush,Sunday RIver. but I am up for anything. I never been skiing in New England so I dont know to much about it. Wheres a go place to go that has great all mountain, nice park and long groomer. Right now I am leaning towards sundayriver but I heard there trails are pretty short compared to some, is that true. Any info would be nice thanks.

Personally, I'm a big fan of Jay Peak. The glades are some of the best in the country (yes, including out west), the snowfall rivals many west coast mountains (350"+), and it's very reasonably priced. The college season pass at Jay, Bolton, and MRG is only $280...so if you're planning on skiing more than 5 days, just buy the pass...enjoy the best mtn in the east

Probably Burlington International Airport, and it's about 1 hr. 15 minutes from Jay Peak, but it's also about 45 minutes from Stowe, so you could get a hotel in the city and do both.

it is usually very crowded, the rails will often be set up crooked, the landings are short, and it doesn't have much vertical. it can be wicked fun on a good week day if everything is set up right, but i would rather go to a more reliable mountain.

What about sugarbush how does that compare. I was really set on sunday river because I can get a nice ski in ski out condo on the slopes cheaper than most. Just seems like sunday river is best deal of them all. But now I am starting to think different. I was thinking smuggs but I dont feel like dealing with the slow lifts and sugaroaf looks awesome, but a three hour drive from airport is a turn off.
