Skimboarding?

I search barred and i couldn't ifnd any good answers so don't even think about it.

Any one on NS skimboard? Im looking to get into it this week and want to know the right board to buy.

Im looking to wave ride? If that what the term is not just ride on the beach.

So far all i understand is fiberglass boards are for wave riding.

What the difference between the novice - expert boards, and whats a good board to get for someone thats 510 160.

 
I bought a skimboard when I was 12. I used it until I was 14. Now it sits in my basement. It is fiberglass. I'd sell it to you if you want, but I think shipping might be a bitch

as for board suggestions... skimboarding more than most sports, you get what you pay for, but dont worry about it too much especially if you dont go a lot. victoria, exile and slotstik all make great boards, and some of zap's boards are good too. my personal suggestion is a slotstik pro vac, i love mine to death. also size.. it should be somewhere around up to your chest, but personal preference is huuuge in skimboarding size. idk im probably not being much help but hit me up if you have any specific questions
 
actually that doesnt help at all. the first page of results had two mentions of actual decent skimboards. nice try though smartass!!
 
I love skimboarding, I just order a carbon apex original shape last week, or two weeks ago... either way it should be here soon.
 
The whole point of me asking is to get advice and experiences/preferences of others on the boards..Something one of those reviews that are really 'sales pitchs' posted on google is not what i was asking for..

I went through several google pages before i could find really any other helpful links other then skimonline. Thanks though its the humorless/witless posts that really send these threads to shit.
