Skimboarding

most of you guys are retarded, theres tons of sht you can do on a skmboard that you cant on a surfboard, its like surfing crossed with skating. and i hate when people thnk skimboardng s just slidng on the sand. you have no idea how hard it is to wrap a wave

yea word. surfing is hella easy on waves that size. skimmin is more then just paddleing and standing up, you have to get on perfect and get as much speed as possible to have a chance of riding the wave, the once u get out to it u better know what ur doin cause ur board has 1/10 the float of a surf board 1/5th the surface area and no fins. and then when people do 360 shuvits while gaping a 15 ft tall wave? skimming is much more technical and has more possibilities then reg surfin. and the reason the waves arent bigger is because really big waves (25 ft plus) break to far our to be accessible on a skimboard remember you have to be able to have enough speed to hydroplane on top of the water not float through the water like a surf board. dont get me wrong i love surfin and its super fun but its def easier then skimmin

running down the beach and sliding on a little wooden plank for 5 seconds at a time! oh what FUNNNNNN!!!!

then you havent seen a regular skimboarder... you'd think that freeskiers would be more openminded to sports but you guys are as bad as the old folks going "why the hell would you want to go backwards on skis? it seems stupid"

watch bil brian skimboard and you wont hate any more, he's destroyed waves bigger than anything 99% of the people on here will ever even see

over summer my friend made a little jib for his skimboard and ate shit, and snapped the bone outta his arm, it was fucked. but hes was all good 2 months after

i need some tips, i have a shitty wooden board that cost me 8$ and i just (try to) use it in the shallows off of my cottage beach, but i keep on falling on my face or ass. when i throw it out infron of me it sometimes catches it's rails on the waves and i can't land in the center when i jump on it, and it slips out from under me and i die, any tips? and it's the an optimum/minimum/maximum water depth for shredding

thats cause your retarded. watch the vids i posted. bill bryan, paulo prietto, those guys kill it, dont talk about something you dont know about.

here's the thing. Your average skimboarder goes skimboarding two or three times a year. The average skimboarder sucks. So does the average skier. I skimboard only when the surf conditions suck for surfing, so I'm a very average skimboarder. But it's a remarkably fun alternative. More fun than, say, boogieboarding. And the guys who are good are amazing. They can do things surfers simply cannot do because they're just so much more versatile.

you need a bigger board foam would be good. dont jump on run with the board drop it and run onto it, back foot on first then front. maybe ur rails are damaged, more likely ur too heavy for ur board. the best depth for skimmin on is thin 3' or shallower. the shallower you go the faster youll go until you get to the point where u stick and fall on your face. which is prolly less then 1/30th of an inch thick literally

wow, that video is sick. Skimboarding progressed so fast.

When I first saw it like 2-3 years ago kids were just throwing em down and hitting the wave straight on like a kicker and got a few feet of air at most and did a little trick.

Now people are turning around and riding it like a surfer along with backflips and shit.

If I head down the shore or go on vacation to a beach somewhere im gunna get one

get a nice fiberglass board like a victoria or a grape cause they are so much better for carving on the lip and just poping off little swells. just try going out towards the wave as its coming in poping a 360 shove landing and carving the wave. (its not as hard as it sounds)
