I have come to realize that this rapper gangsta skiing style isnt right. I used to be into it but its kindof changing the aspect of newschool skiing. Wheres the form? I just see lower and lower gorrilla steeze all the time. I hope at least some of you know what a 4 point landing is. Get out of the park, ski some moguls and rip some pow. I dont see candide using steeze and he kicks ass. Fuck man, Jam to some Sex Pistols and not Lil Jon and stop trying to copy every bent over park rat.

I agree, it's getting out of hand. I dont know how anyone could actually ski like that, i mean really, i can see doing a 180 off a perfect park jump, but to actually ski down a mountain trying to touch your toes? You can't, or if you did it would be the skectiest thing ever. I feel that why Tanner was never able to get into big mountain full throtle. Gorrila steeze is out of control.

i think gorilla steez looks good in some situations, and i actually like it better when its only semi-gorilla, i think that looks smoother than when people have there backs practically vertical to a rail.

theres a million threads just like this, and they are all pointless...i think that the way people ski is natural and i could care less how someone else looks when they are going down the hill because its what they want to do wheter they look like a fool or not...and if that person can stomp all their landings and ski away looking good more power to them. but if they are skiing hunched over and cant do anything that is annoying

i dont agrre.....i myself am a massive park rat...its the only thing i ski...pow days dont come along where i live(east cost canada)so i am forst to ski park....skiing park is what i love and i dont mind gorilla steeze especially for rails....but yes some things are outrageous like how low the pants are these days...gorilla steeze is a way to just feel really chill and comfortable. i know that i can be gorilla but not nearly to the extent of others that i know...i prefer to just be myself and try and flow my lines and be as smooth as possible(i need some work)...however i dont think you should be dogging someone else's way of skiing just becasue of their style....

gorilla steeze helps people balance on rails. especially taller guys. i think it looks sweet when not forced but everybody has their own opinions of what looks good/bad. you cant try to tlak somebody out of liking a style because thats their choice

 
i think its deffinatly fadeing away though more people are realizing that tanner isnt the only person evolving our sport and startign to think perhaps they could have thier own style

I knew someone smart would post this. It actually is ok to SEMI-steeze rails and jibs. not to your toes, but about to your knees. I, myself am a taller person so I understand that. My mogul coach was telling me that even tho tanner has his hands to his toes, on rails it helps him.

It dont matter what kind of music you listen to. Hell Ill listen to pretty much anything but contry or boy bands. Style should be independant and what you want yourself to look like in the air or on a rail. Some people just wanna be Tanner Hall but end up looking like a total retard cause they overdo it. And I dont think style should be based on what kind of music you listen to like if your into rap you have to hav gorrila steeze thats just stupid

i love the thuggish image it makes skiing look better style wise by far. But then when the industry puts out a movie like fucking wski106 which in mys eyes was a disgrace to skiing, its defifnatly getting outta hand.

to be honest, I dont actually see a lot of gorilla steeze around anymore. But thats just me. In my opinion, on some people it works and for others it doesnt, so there is no need to generalize about a style being bad.

I'm not a big fan of gorrila steeze on anything but 180s and cork 3s. on everything else I like tanner rainville or Peter Olenick (watch him do corks over the windells tables with tru tails = orgasmic) or like Lucas Tanaka's spins with leading grabs. I like the leading tweaked shit rather than old-man-on-toilet stance on every trick.
