Skiing without poles

Its retarted, it feels retarded, it looks retarded and there is really no point i love my poles and i will always ski with them!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

whats the point of poles when skiing park? snowboarders dont need them why do we? i say we definitly need them for skiing big mountains. but other then that fuck em

I can easily see how poles would make it easier for training purposes and I have no problem with it. However, I think poles are just one of those things that identifies us as skiers and sets us apart from the ski/snowboarders. Plus, it does look pretty nice to see someone doing a nice laid out grab with the poles, it adds to it if done properly. Personally, I never ride without them just because it doesn't feel right. Sortuv like I've lost a limb or something...

Have you ever seen a little kid slide back down the inrun of a kicker without going over? This is why parents shouldn't dump their kids off anywhere near the park...
 
some guy named Andy Meyer or something rides without poles,hes so sick. But i think if you could make it look good enough without poles then i wouldnt use them

 
You guys are funny, you are all sitting here talking shit about style without poles. But I seriously think that there isnt a single person here that is half as good or has any where near the style that Andy has without poles. Just because Andy can rip better than all of you guys with out poles, doesnt give you any right to diss the style.

saying poles are a part of skiing is comparable to saying straight edges and tight pants were 'part of skiing' 20 years ago. i am not neccessarily calling no poles skiing a progression, just a preference... just like some people still prefer non sidecut skis and nut huggers.

i feel naked without them, like i went up without my poles acouple runs t oto film a run down a slope my friend did. and it was wierd. like i couldnt move up in the ski line fast without doing the stupid sideways thing and got in the way. and i also seemed to not turn well. might be all mental though

ive seen people who make no polein look good. they can do the crazyest grabs. but ya i always use poles and always will
