Skiing without poles and your political party

Those who lambaste skiing without poles are most likely fastidious and conservative as they are afraid of change.

Those who support the Überness of no pole skiing are liberals and/or progressives.

so i'm a pugnacious supporter of no-poles riding and i happen to be liberal too. SWeeeeeeet.

so does my amazing thesis match up to your guys' viewpoints or am i just rly rly high right now?

Wow, an interesting conclusion, but I can almost tell where you are coming from. I respect those who ski without poles, but I am a pretty hardcore Liberal, and i have skied with poles everyday of my life

I haven't developed a complete political opinion yet, however, I do not like the no poles thing. To me, it is good for ski instructors and aerial jumpers, other than that, extreme ugliness.

About the whole "afraid of change" thing, that may be true in some cases. But with me, I don't mind change, I just think no poles is a goofy fad that makes skiers look like losers. Just my opinion though.

i cant stop laughinhg that is the funniest thing i have seen in a while

I am a conservative and ski with poles, your opinion is wrong

i am conservative, but I think no poles is dope. And most CHANGES liberals want to make are stupid. Taking away our rights does not constitute a change we should embrace.

this is the stupidest thread i think I have ever read on newchoolers, which is saying something.

And skiing without poles is just about as cool as rollerblading.

o gosh my thesis is wrong, sorry guys. it was really a spur of the moment thing to post this. just look at the awesome picture now!

Didn't say that, I said it looks goofy. For some people, that is there thing, and thats okay with me. On the other hand, I don't want to feel like a retard going down the slopes with no poles. And that is just how I would feel with no poles. I mean I would do it to screw around, but not for serious skiing. Strictly personal preference. Does that make sense?

i think skiing without poles is fun. i mean i bet 75% of the people on this site dont use there poles for anything but leaning on and pushing with, and they are probably too short anyway.

I dont support skiing with no poles and I'm a conservative, which backs up your theory. I just feel that skiing without poles is one step closer to snowblading...

I think certain people that rock no poles can be supeerrr steezy. andy mahre, evan spong, rasT and rasC.I also think that you actually have to be good to pull this off. Washington is basically the capitol of nopoles it seems like and it seems i always find kids going through the park rocking no poles that do pencil 180's and yeaaa

75%? I bet more than 25% of the people on this site get off piste from time to time. And in my experience, it's really hard to ski anything other than park without poles and make it look good. I like poles, although sometimes I wish skiing had evolved without them. Anytime i'm learning a new grab i usually try it a few times without poles first. And unfortunately, i'm politically pretty moderate, which doesn't help prove or disprove the idea of this thread.

I'm liberal and I don't care if people use poles or not, so that will help prove your thesis right.

derka derka. hahahahah that was so funny. i just watched it like 5 times. and i hate no poles. it just looks sloppy as shit. and its just pointless

Skiing with no poles is tight. You are just judging it based on those Joeys you see around. Have you ever seen Andy ski with no poles? He can make it look as good and natural I don't know why you're hating it.

I personally like doing it for fun, but for serious I don't, because I use my poles a lot. I grew up racing and I always pole plant and use them for basic techniques.

hating on no poles is like hating on progression.

in some sense yes. if we didn't then style wouldnt matter. style is personal and subjective, some people think nopoles = bad style and others disagree.

oh and im liberal and ski with poles. while i dont care how individuals like to ride i just dont think it looks as stylish. dont get me wrong, it can look good but i think those who are good enough to pull it off would look even better with poles.

i saw Andy at schweitzer over the weekend and i have to admit, he looked pretty sick wtih no poles. on the same day i saw a snowboarder using poles, and ya, he looked terrible.

is this thread serious? i'm liberal and i'm stuck on skiing WITH poles. If you ski without poles you look like the Wacky Waving Arm Inflatable Tube Man. Those don't belong on the ski hill. They're more apropriate for car dealerships and strip clubs.

skiing without poles is really fun, my vote is to do whatevers fun for you, wether it be with or without them. Doesn't really matter to me. Im not sure of the politcal aspects of it though, i think thats a false conclusion.

you need the sticks to tap the skiers without sticks on the eye. Metal pin onto the eye. This is how skiers without sticks are owned.

sooo i mhere being all pissed off an shit cause its raining and my seasons almost over, but that owl made me laugh very hard.... soo thank you to who ever posted it.

But I'm not Liberal or Conservative, I vote Green! No poles is chill if you can do it right, yesterday I watched a kid almost take out a lift line 'cause he couldn't slow down after skating to make it to the chair. so... Poles are a must if you can't snowplow Dumbass!

Otherwise, Go Green!
