Skiing without ACL?

yeah you dont need an acl for skiing...
i skied a few days on a messed up knee with a brace.... it turned out the inside of me knee was as mutilated as a witches tit.... had to get an acl replacement surgery.... but i ski fine this season....

If you really tore your ACL you usually have bone bruises, liquid in your knee (mainly blood) and its pretty damn swollen. So you have 2 options.

Either you get the surgery ASAP, which means on the same day and within a couple of hours, or you have to wait till the knee becomes flexible again. This can take A LOT of time. Mine was swollen for like 3 months...

Anyway. I was skiing park today (if you can call a box and a jump a park...) and it was totaly fine. I ate shit twice and even that wasn't painful (at least not more painful than usually). Got some pics of a switch5, even if the light and scene was kinda crappy...

Can't wait to go tomorrow!

Shred on!

getting surgery hours after tearing your acl is the dumbest thing evers, your supporting muscles are still so weak it makes rehab a bitch...most people are better off taking the two months and riding the bike and getting their strength up to make post op easier

I can just tell what doctors told me, and Ive been to a lot, even some who are still into professional sport.

A lot of football players, skiers, whatever, ... get the surgery hours after. Of course they have a lot of muscles to rely, but still.

ahah no no i didnt mean to like argue something you said i was just saying in general i have never understood that and also its simply what my doctor told me as well... i actually had my surgery 3 weeks after the accident simply because the swelling wasnt bad and the supporting muscles were pretty strong from lifting for lacrosse and football..

ice that shit and let it heal up for a bit, tell your doctor you not waiting 3 god damn months for surgery thats bogus. Find a better doc and get that shit fixed. Don't ski, unless you only want to be able to do so till youre 40.
