Skiing with music ---> Dangerous?

i dont have the anti social problem when skiing with music any more because i broke my left headphone, it got caught on a tree and the cord fucked up. its sweet

U cant break ur Ipod trust me:P U can drive over some iPods by car and they will still work :P (thats what i heard...)

i usaully have my music playing but at a level when im skiing i can hear it cleanly but i can still here if my friends are yelling to me...and when im on the chairlift when my friend is working, i blast it so no one will try to start a stupid conversation with me

the only time it's gotten me in trouble is when I accidentally cut someone off, and they were yelling at me to move, but I didn't hear them

has any ever been skiing and like kind of put the lyrics in your head . When im learning new stuff i make seem like theres some music playing like watching a ski movie. It works sometimes.

There was this kid today at breck. One of those super hip snowboarder kids with the ear phones that are look like speakers out of my car. Anyway this kid crashed superhard off a hit and so this kid gets up to the top, looks around, then hits the jump mean while everyone is screaming at him that this kid ate shit. They didnt collide but my buddy told me it was close. Anyway dont ski with retarted huge head phones. I suggest if you are going to ski with music put a head phone in one ear and keep it lould enough that it makes lift times faster.

i always ski with music...sooo key to a good ride...plus its like a soundtrack to my life...soo good..just dont put it to loud soo you can still talk to your friends

kinda true, but only if there's tourists bombing through the park. i can't tell you how many times those idiots cut in front of me when i'm dropping into a booter.. same with the racers. for some reason, ripping thru the park skiing around us like we're gates is the new hot thing. fuckers.. the only thing is i'm not sure how much hearing them is going to do, because if someone were to hit you, there's no stopping it. music helps me forget about the morons screaming shit from the chairs, and puts me into my own zone.

If I ski park, I'll usually have it on a little louder than usual, but I can still hear things.

If I'm just skiing around, I'll put it on quietly.

If I'm skiing trees or someplace where I need to know everything thats going on around me, I'll turn it off.

not too safe in the backcountry. next thing you know you'll be sitting in the hospital saying "i didn't even hear that avalanch coming!" haha.

no its not it takes u away from any thing and the people behind u are supposed to avoid u anyway not to mention why i do somethin i dont freak

I alwayssss rock the tunes, especially if riding alone. But when you are with a buncha friends I always slip my headphones back off my ears so I can discuss and whatnot, the whole nature of freeskiing is very social to some extent and you gots to have respect for your friends around you. But once shredding commences its a different story.

it can be dangerous but if you just pay attention all will be great. get an ipod shuffle at best buy and get like 5 dollar insurance and if you break it they replace it for free

i sorta forget about my music untell i stop or on the chair lift, doesnt effect my at all. just gets me pumped in the park. i think its not dangerous.

If u can ski nice and have a nice line it isnt dangerous at all. people who cant ski and suddenly turn right or left are dangerous. And if u just look around u and pay attention than there is nothing dangerous about it. And also people who come from above they attention on u not u on them...

i blast my music... with an ipod... always. if you ski fast, you never have to worry about whats behind you, just in front, and thats what eyes are for.

yea just broke my ipod doin a flat down flat on the last segment i fell forward and landed right on my ipod and cracked the screen but music helps u go bigger

I think thats a bunch of Rubbish because first off it dosnt make a differnce if you have music or not and music really does give you a gist to your skiing

Totally agree. I almost got hit by someone comming off a box once but thats about it. I think music totally pumps you up. I get so psyed when im listening to music. Its great!

ya I sometimes ski with music mainly if im goin solo in the park. i use earbuds and my ipod mini.

the thing I do so im not afraid of breaking it is I put it in a pocket thats quite literally near my nipple (lol nipple tehee) or actually my heart that is a very safe place for an ipod.

GET A TAPE PLAYER FOR LIKE 15$ U CAN LAND ON IT AND U WONT GET PISSED.PLUS THEY DONT SHUT OFF IN THE COLD LIKE I PODS DO
