Skiing With Injuries?

so i was unfortunate enought to break my wrist the other day. im wondering if any of you guys have skied with a cast or a broken bone or any sort of injury?

I skied with a broken wrist (didn't get casted) and a broken rib after I overrotated a frontie last year. I filmed mostly for about a week then I was back doing rails but no jumps for about 3 weeks.

I just took it easy and skied outside the park a lot for those 3 weeks.

Skied on my still broken foot today actually, last season skied with a knee caped knocked out of place (wore a brace and did Physical Therapy often) knee still fucked up for this season

I skied with pins in my knee just 3 days before they were surgically removed. I had to wear a brace with my knee locked straight, and therefore couldn't turn left. So I compensated by over-steering to the right and riding switch when I needed to traverse left. It wasn't very smart but I was going crazy not being able to ski.

Another time I broke the growth plate in my elbow at wrestling practice, and then the following weekend, I broke my tailbone overshooting a jump while skiing.

Honestly I wouldn't really recommend it, but I completely understand doing whatever is necessary to go skiing.

skiied with a torn rotator cuff (recover from a dislocated arm) as well in a sling every bump was the most painfull thing just sat in the lodge...

I got 7 stitches right below my hip from a skiing accident in february. I took a week off and then stomped my first dub back. Probably one of the dumbest/best decision I have ever made.

right now I'm 12 weeks(3 months) and 1 day out of ACL reconstruction. ive already skied twice and im going up again in 2 days. i just take it super easy, no jumps and i just slide boxes super easily and land from the boxes mostly completely on my uninjured leg. i go crazy when i cant ski and if i dont ski i get into a lot of bad shit so its worth the risk imo. plus i ski with a brace and have been doing TONS of Pt, icing after i ski and every single night, and i had full range of motion at like 2 or 3 weeks out of surgery. i also take a break every while and ice my knee with snow, sore or not.

I broke my wrist a few weeks ago and it didn't stop me from doing most things. I was in a rail jam and went to an open gym with a hard cast. Just ask your doctor to leave a hard cast on a week or so after it's healed, that way it can be as strong as possible and you won't be able to re-injure it.

can someone reply to my comment on a scale of 1-10 how stupid it is, super easy skiing after ACL surgery 3 months out. ive been doing crazy PT and had full range of motion like 3 weeks out.

I skied an afternoon with a broken arm. Then drove two hours, and slept all night. Then drove to the hospital the next morning to get casted.

my doctor says I can't ski this year because of a traumatic brain injury. i'm going to, a lot, and I think I'll be fine so I think you have better odds than me. So you'll be fine let's just take it easy and try not to get blacktout and ski this year.

I'd say just don't ski park this year. Hike a lot, ski different places. I've never been injured skiing like crazy, all over the mountain, except the park. Thats me anyway. Your knee might feel great but I wouldn't push it on rails or jumps tooo crazy. everyone's different though

I skied all last season with what I found out was a missing MCL. I shredded it riding a dirt bike on the first day of summer break, so there was time between that and skiing, but I run cross country so I had that about a week after my incident I was back to sixty five mile weeks

word. so skiing 3 months out just casually carving down easy slopes and easy bc and hiking for fun to keep myself out of trouble isnt a terrible idea?

i've been skiing with a torn rotator cuff for 2 seasons now. it sucks, i seperate my shoulder virtually every time i ski.
