Skiing with dirtbike helmets...

i know seth does, but what is your take on it. i know it would look gay if you suck, or if you are carving almost flat trails, but what about for steep EC trails. the slides at whiteface for example.. because i sold my sled and now i have a helmet ready for use

i ski sometimes with a giro remedy fullface helmat. but only when there alot of pow, or if i'm sking in a forrest.

Seths pro model is a D2 carbon- Not a motocross helmet....MTB Helmet...Not DOT approved, however the SE from Troy Lee is pretty small compared to most motocross helmets and is DOT and I know a lot of kids who rock them on a MTB, would be pretty bulkey skiing though..

if youre talking about a full face helmets, there are different kinds. do you mean like mtb ones? of motorcycle ones with glass visors>?

Full face is a little overkill for alpine but not BC. What I liked was these old race helmets I saw in Nagano where kids had just bolted this metal curved bar out in front of their jaw a few inches to either side of their helmet. So kind of acted like full face, only with airflow and you could talk, and it didnt look so strange. I think maybe they make helmets like that instead of just 'building' one like they did..

i ski with a giro flax helmet its the same helmet as the encore it even has the slots for the ear flaps its the same helmet apart from its mising the mesh on the top, the flax cost me $40 while if you go to a ski shop you pay $90 for some ear flaps

and using a motorbike hellmet is going to do more damage than good because it is so heavy. think of you neck

i think he is talking about a dirt bike or atv helmet. They don't have glass visors. Using a motorcycle helmet would just be retarded.
