Skiing with a GoPro

I've noticed people stare you down when you're skiing with a GoPro, no big deal I don't mind it. I just started skiing park this season and can't throw down anything real impressive. I just like to film/edit so I picked up a gopro.
My question is, if you rock one, do you feel like people are expecting you to be good or if u see a kid enter the park, do you expect him to throw down?

like half the kids i ski with have gopros, and we ski at a semi-small mountain, so i'd imagine a lot of people have seen them

but at least once a day i'll get people asking "what's that thing on your head?" haha, it's funny

well i kinda do expect them to throw down but then again i expect anyone filming to throw down. But if you dont i doesnt matter so dont worry.

to go more into depth though, everyone at my mountain that i ski with that has a gopro absolutely throws down, i am probably the exception to that rule. haha

i just tell people it's my insulin pump with direct injection to my brain. that usually shuts them up.

Only ridden pow with mine, most people I see on the hill with them are middle aged skiing groomers.

one day a patroller stopped and talked to my brother and i. (he was wearing the gopro) and wanted to know if that was a webcam or something and were broadcasting it on the internet.

we politely told her it was just a camera that went on your head.

at my hill you get a TON of stares, points, and questions.

ill agree with this mostly. i dont really expect them to throw something huge, but something stomped or an attempt at something

if they dont, im not really surprised either. since a lot of people use film to get better. basically as soon as they get a few tricks and want to make them look better

every lift ride you get questions and in the lift line. I don't get the middle aged people on groomers with them. Do they go home and just watch themselves turning? whatever you wanna do is fine but it just seems kinda funny.

You'd be surprised how many people film themselves skiing groomers. It's fair enough I guess. Each to their own.
I hate when people stare at shit like this though... It's the same when you're just out taking a picture or filming. This noseyness... Although I get why the GoPro gets the stares it does, it is a bit of a peculiar design to be fair.

disagree. peter slays!

I couldn't care less. I saw random people yesterday with GoPros the were just skiing around on groomers. Looked like they were having a blast.

I think that anyone with a gopro likes filming! But if they cant throw down at all, then I think they know someone who can

this will be newschoolers in 10 years or so. If you want help with any new trick just let ns know and someone will click on your profile and BAM there's the live skype enabled skiminnesota HD stream and they can communicate with you the whole time.

usually when i see a gopro i expect to see them throw down. but i see kids at my local hill that just like to ski groomers with them also. so i could care less

I purposly leave mine on just to see all the gapers faces when they stare at it, and say "Is that a camera on his head? Hey where can I get one of those?!!?!!!!11" It gives me many lolz at the end of the day.

I don't expect someone to be good just because they are filming unless they have some $3,000 set up... then I expect a little more out of them than a straight air.

Same, I haven't seen anyone else up here in NH with one. So every chair ride, lift line all I get is questions and stares. Mostly positive I guess.
