i brok my wrist at baker yesterday, and now i have a cast. im going to park city on friday for like 5 days. what do you guys suggest, try to use poles(this isnt possible in the cast i have now but maybee i will have more handmovement in the permanent cast i get wednesday), or just 1 pole or no poles, what is easiest.

oh yeah? well me and my friends have been bathing off the southern coast of st. bards, chilling with spider monkeys. tripping on acid gave us a whole new perspective on shit.

you can ask the doctor to mold a ski pole to the cast so that you can hold one

FRZGene - Wow you are the man. And by 'the man', I mean 'not the man'.

just put the strap on real tight and then a little bit of duct tape in the palm to keep it in place. or go no poles. People will see your cast and understand.

Screw this I'm going skiing

unless ur really worried about what other ppl think about u skiing without poles, just go without them. I lost a pole off the lift once and had to ski without them for alittle while, no bi deal.

Take your pole to the doc with you and mold the cast to the grip as it sets.

I got real familar with this as I was in a cast for 16 weeks two years ago.

Also get the gore-tex lining, way more comfomatable than the cotton one.

I tore a ligament in my thumb the other day and I have surgery this week and I am planning to ski next week so I would say just go for it. All you need to do is keep it dry

get your arm amputated and build a robotic wrist with a hand that turns into a machine gun / skipole. then you can gat posers or ski without hassle.

um i skied like half of last season with a cast on my wrist. it doesn't suck. but your hand does get cold. oh and i did take a pole with me to the doctor but it's useless cause you have no wrist movement. i just skied with one pole so i could at least maneuver flats a little bit. it sucks when it gets wet though.

i skiied with one last year..take a soccer sock and put pt of ur hand...cut a thumb hole...and athletictap pole to hand....your thumb never gets cold

Brian

everyone said that your hand got cold, you didnt try to stretch something over it or something. i think ill just see how one pole works out. if it doesnt maybee go no poles.

...

i knew i broke it yesterday, and i wasnt gonna get a cast because i have a wrist brace from last time i broke it but it hurt like a bitch this morning

...

bring your poles when you go to get the cast. buddy of mine broke his thumb, and had the doctors actually make the cast around his hand while he was holding the pole. so, they make the cast on your hand, then while it's still wet you grab the pole, and let the cast harden up. that way you can grip it. then just get a really big glove, and you're set.
