skiing what else

i was curious on your personal choice of poles. although its equipment that wont change your form, would you rather have a graphite or aluminum pole?

oh yea, whats your favorite color too?

thanks

graphite are cool cause they are made of graphite. The best color, White with some pink points on it.

i like the ghetto poles. I have one scott pole with all the paint chipped off, the strap is duct taped on, and it doesnt have a basket. My other pole is a kerma with the strap fastened with a ticket wicket. I LOVE MY POLES

I don't ski with poles. My fave colors are black, vermillion, scarlet, hunter green, and any other dark shade associated with certain Roma mythology *hint hint*

right....what he said. no, i have no preference in poles. I like poles that don't cost me anything (ie- stolen rental poles from blue mountain). I break too many poles so I don't bother buying them, I just 'borrow' them. Those graphite pole or whatever aren't suposed to break but I've busted 3 pairs of those this year alone. And my baskets keep falling off. Poles are so cheep.

I use my Gabel World Cup GS poles. I can't stand using straight poles for jibbing...i don't know why though.

I used to use poles that I got for free when I bought my first pair of skis, however this summer I lost one on the lift up Blackomb so I broke the other one in half and threw it in a tree at the hotel.

ok stealing rental poles sounds like a good idea....but last year I stole a pair and I got caught. they all say AFTON ALPS on them and are all just plain old aluminum gray/silver colored with the afton alps logo on them. you can't mask the fact that they are stolen. you get busted so easily.

OZSkier is right- get composite poles! These poles are the shit, mine are Goode Composites. They are really light, but really strong. I prefer them so much over metallic poles because they are a lot thinner and they NEVER break. One of my ski friends broke three pairs of aluminum poles last year. I've had the composite poles for three years and not even a bend in them (which isn't possible on a comp. pole anyway).

everyone knows that i have rental poles, the lifties and rental guys always make fun of me for it, noone really cares......i just finnished 'disguising' them though...... I covered them with duct tape than put clearish stickers over the duct tape, now the only way you can tell that they are from Blue is the handles and bright yellow wrist thingies.

I got a pair of beat up Scott Classics, and a pair of steel Scott poles circa 1960... the steel ones are SICK they are literally sharpened on the bottom. But I got a new pair of Reflex Bump and Jump to use.
