Skiing w. Stitches

Who here still skis when you've had some sort of suturing done? I just got stitched up in my finger from grabbing my edge too hard. Doc says that it'll be two weeks before i see snow. I say no to that. So from experiance, who here still skis when they've been stitched, and how hard do you push? I'm thinking about goin nopolesteeze and just doin rails plain and no grabs on the jumps. Any appreciated advice?

Hell, if Bobby can do it and finish strong at Breck Dew Tour, then why can't I just simply ski? C'mon Doc.

at first i thought, OH is this going to be the new thing becasuse bobby did it, then i seen you accutaly fucked your fingerr orsomething up.

JUst ski youl be fine, just don't do grabs go from top of the hill to the bottem of the hill.

you will be fine indeed. I skied with 13 stitches in my knee 12 days after they were put in (doc said to wait forever but fuck that) and i was golden

Just wrap it well, and try too grab with the other hand. Might even help your style too be super comfortable grabbing opposite while doing stuff.

Stitches in your hand? Two weeks? Is your doctor retarded or some over protective 80 year old man?
That cut is going to heal in a few days, the stitches will most likely come out in less than two weeks anyway. I had 6 stitches in my head once and went skiing a few days later, only because I had a concussion. Just put some gauze over the wound, wrap it up nice, and put your glove on. Try to avoid fucking with it. You'll be fine skiing with it though, just be careful.

Basically, your a puss jst go and ski. if bobby b can go get 4th in a dew tour stop with 20 stiches on his thigh muscle that he got that morning im sure you can ski with a cut hand....

i crashed a few seasons ago and got 15 stitches in my leg and skied a week later....it just leaves a bigger scar

I had pins in my thumb and went skiing the day after surgery...the only hard part was fitting all the bandages into my glove. I think the stitches will be fine as long as you cover them with something before putting on your glove

4 years ago, the visor that was attached to my helmut folded over and pushed my goggles down, and gave me 7 stitches an inch away from my eye. I skied the next day. A hammer fell on my nose at work, and I got three stitches, I skied the next day. 2 weeks ago a clamp fell on the top of my head and it gished everywhere. I should have gotten stitches, but I didn't. I skied the next day. No problemo

Doctors have to make ridiculous recommendations to avoid lawsuits. Go ski you'll be fine. Obviously avoid landing on your bad hand. I had 11 stitches in my arm last season from a run in with a tree branch and I was skiing in two days and I crashed and shit, but nothin happened.

Exactly What I Did

yeah, and the doc was an old man who freaked out when i gave him the story. Apparently he never knew that you can put the word 'air' 'spin' and 'ski' in the same sentence.

Today is 1-1-2021 couple days after having 5 stitches on my finger and thumb area, still painful, but want to snowboard so bad,

thanks to everyone's comment I got the push to go for it, I hope it will be a good decision, if I fall just going to make sure I dont fall on it. Will wrap them together and fit all my fingers in the mitten area minus the thumb section. Happy 2021!
