Skiing VS Snowboarding

The variety of skiing manuevers vs snoboardning mauevers is incredible. I mean there is so much more shit that can be on skis and the possiblities are endless, they still havent been touched. That's why i think in about 5 years skiing will surpass snowboarding in the park and outside of the park. Doesnt anyone agree? Skiing is the future snowboarding is just getting repititive? Am I not correct?

yeah, there are a lot more rail variations on a snowboard, but i think both sports could help each other out in different ways

I think the more important thing is that people push to better each other. I'm waiting for the day that people generally accept eachother on the hill. I don't see skiing or snowboarding as one being better than the other, I see them both progressing the industry as a whole.

I get just as pumped up watching snowboard videos as I do watching ski videos, and I think both have their place in the industry, afterall, its not about having one plank or two strapped to you feet, its about going out and having fun on the snow and progressing the snow sports industry.

i think that they are both very cool i just think that skiing has way more style because of the two boards and you can ax them up

 
Yeah skiing and boarding are both sick sports, you can do the same kinda things and they are both fun to take part in. Ski boarding's gay though.

It is true that Both are sick. We as skiers have to rember that snowboarding has influenced skiing for sure. My wish is that eventualy they will both have their own industries, but they will be combined in a way too. Hard good companies should probley focus on one, but clothing, Videos, maybe even a Magazine or two will in a way be combined. Think it Quiksilver picked up a few more skiers and then made a team video. If the right people do it would be way rad.

skiing has always been at a higher level at big mountain then boarding and know i think we are surpassing them in the park def in the pipe

^ i couldnt disagree more. i think skiing 'looks' the best by a long way but i am biased, as a boarder would be.

ok this place gets more boring evey day. ON the snowboarder disscusion snowboarding=T.V.=cool thing to do, SKIING=no T.V.=not cool. there's more too it but that's the basics. AND Don't forget that if it wasn't for snowboarders we wouldn't be doing most of the stuff we are.

I dont really think of it as a 'vs.' type thing. I ski with boarders and have complete respect for them and they have complete respect for me. The boarders that respect skiers are usually the ones who have done it for a long time. Its the boarders that are new that piss me off. They are usually the ones that say skiing sucks. They eventually learn I guess, or hope

 
We ow a lot to snowboarders but without skiers al these resort probably wouldn't even exist. We ow eachother. It's boath cool. Everybody has a different taste. 50% boarders - 50% skiers would be nice.

 
it would be cool to have movies and mags with both skiers and boarders. i think that old'SKIERS VS. BOARDER' war is over. its time to unite as a group that has one love......to ride whether it be on on plank or two.

Fucking snowboarding is so sick those snowboarders have so much fucking syle. I think that, like tanner said, the 2 sports are so different that they dont really compare other than there both on snow and very very sick and fun to do

what a dumb fucking post, there is no point in arguing this. Pretty much everyone on this site skis, and dont know shit. Currently, snowboarding owns, many more options in teh backcountry(jumping), switch ability in the pipe, they go bigger, if you dont agree with that, watch roman de marchi's seg in vivid. Both sports are fucking tight, but if your looking at skill, right now, snowboarders have more skill becasue they have been doin this shit for longer(jibbing and jumping that is), one day, skiers will be up to that level, but not yet

I didn't read any of the posts, but snowboarding isnt getting repetitive, THIS is. Im sick of the two being compared. lets jsut rip it. Who cares what you slide down the moutnain on. The only thing snowboarding sucks for is its lack of respect for skiers.

the only snowboarders i hate are the ones that make fun of skiing non stop. one guy#1 in a park one day stoped and looked down at a guy#2 that crashed bad and he was just laying there. and the guy#1 said only a skier. i pointed out to his fagger ass it was a snowboards and he said that doesnt happen much. then he went down and crashed on a stright air. i did a switch 360 and laughed at him when he was laying on the ground. i hate snowboarders like that.

THe only thing about snowboarding thats nicer is that they can throw really big 9s and 5s into pow cuz they land switch easier which we cant do with so much ease
