Skiing vs. Snowboarding

I'm a skier and i'd say that snowboarding is still way ahead of skiing but guys like Eric Pollard are catching them faster then the rest of us because he take easy tricks and make them look so good rather then just hucking. but there is more good talent coming up in skiing then snowboarding so I say it's only a matter of time.

FIS SUCKS!

good god, sorry, but this has been posted so many times. I would suggest referring to other threads pertaining to the subject rather than doing yet another post on it

ya I bet a hundred bucks that he is just being a tool and saying that because he herd somone els say it but I defantly agrea with you and I just got 1 question(thats better) and its, why do u all ski? like most everyone agreas that snowboarding is father ahead then skiing and people look up to snowboarders alot more...

my reason would be that snowboarding has hit its peak(or atleast pretty close) and skiing is still no where from that point, and I hope to, someday, bring it to that point...

yeah i agree w/whats said here. i think one reason why snowboarding is so far ahead is because it caught on bigtime a few years back, it became the next big thing to do, you weren't cool unless you could snowboard. it became almost a mainstream sport, but not quite, because mainstream sports tend to be classified under the 'stick and ball' category, which snoboarding has neither of. i feel that skiing is almost hittting that point now, don't think it'll be long. o ya, im a newbie here, so don't rag on me for saying something thats already been said, i really didn't feel like surfing through the forums all night

here, let me beat it a couple more times...*whack...whack* there, now it's really dead

I just like skiing more. I've tried boarding and it wasn't for me.

I want to someday be a part of the progression of our sport.

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

i don't think skiing has, look we are just starting to land in powder switch, backcountry jibbing, some of the pros are going huge in the pipe, then theres the massive hip that candide cleared and I'm sure it would be possible to hit switch and there is just things like that, pipe hits going switch are insanly hard but some people like turpin are starting to get good at them soo i defantly don't agrea that skiing has reached its limts...

Snowbaording is ahead of skiing in the jib sense, an That is ALL. Skiing has been around for hundreds of years. Snowbaording, not even 20. The longest any pro snowbaorder has been riding is maybe 16-18 years. I am only sixteen and have been skiing for 14 years, which shows that snowbaorsing is very new. Skiing and snowbaording are evolving together and with each other. but there is no way snowbarding is entirely ahead of skiing in any aspect.
