Skiing Under the Influence

I can honestly say I haven't skied without smoking the devils lettuce in 2 years. Skiing blazed is my favorite thing to do of all time, besides having sex of course.

anyone else notice this thread has been posted a bunch of times and no one says anything but when a new member reposts something everyone feels the need to point it out

its all about getting into that zone doe. That zone where you feel steezy, can land anything, and feel comfortable visualizing new tricks and committing to them. Sometimes you can get there sober. For me, after a few beers and a spliff and a good mindset, I can find myself skiing more smoothly and trying tricks I wouldn't do otherwise. If you can get into that zone sober more power to you. If you need a 40 and a blunt, go for it. Its just all about the zone

Sorry, but skiing drunk is stupid as shit. I'm not talking after 1 or 2 beers, that's all right, but as soon as you pass the limit where you're actually under the influence, you'll be the dickhead who cleans up some kid on the way to the lift.

And I'm not saying this from a preachy perspective, because this winter I had to attend to some little kid (4-6 years old) who cleaned up by someone who spent all of their lunchtime on the sauce. Poor little guy looked to have a pretty serious spinal injury, probably one of the C vertebrae so he might be a quadriplegic now.

Don't drink and drive - Don't Drink and Ski.

Get high all you want. Never seen guys who do that cause many problems.

The best ski day I have ever had, I was high on LSD. Skied super mellow terrain all day, and the POV footage was just hillarious. In my mind, I was shredding, in reality I was puntting around on blue runs.

One of the sickest BC jump sessions I ever participated in 3 of my friends had take E. No one knew untill we got back to the cabin. They were throwing down something feirce.

I almost always smoke while sking ... but that becasue I almost always smoke while doing anything. Its a dangerous line to walk, between being buzzed and being impaired.

Its super important to clacualte your risks .. I love touring into zones with some mushrooms on board ... but I hate being fucked up in any terrain with any amount of appreciable risk.

Know your limit and ride within it. Sking is alabout making decisions and calculating risk. Adding drugs and booze is a major factor when making these calculations.

Important to note, life insurance will not cover you if your are drunk or high.
